If I recall correctly, they probably had to do it just to get out of those sewers, since one of the kids had this incredible sense of direction—though I suppose that surviving horror left him a bit shaken up, so they needed to find their way back. But still, five against one just feels kind of messed up.

I watched "That Thing" when I was just a kid... honestly, it gave me the chills... I think that’s why I stopped going to the circus back then... or maybe circuses just went out of style altogether 😁
That scene where the little girl is at the sink and that massive bubble of blood appears—while her older brother doesn't see a thing—was absolutely creepy. Though, if we're being honest, the brother is even creepier. But the absolute worst part? When she’s grown up, returns to that town, and sits down for tea with that weird old woman... only to realize the cup is filled with blood, right before the old lady looks up with her father's face. Total nightmare fuel... 😱

... which brings us right back to the age-old debate: everyone’s entitled to their own take on what a vampire should be. If every single one was identical, even if they were dark and brooding, the whole genre would feel incredibly stale. 👎

I don't really care about the specific vibe of the vampire. They can even be funny for all I care. As long as the story actually has a vision behind it instead of just being some attempt to win a contest...

To be honest, I think most writers (and I’m not just talking about myself here) write because they have their own unique way of looking at the world—a perspective they eventually decide is worth sharing with everyone else.

Honestly, I think writers (and I'm not just talking about myself) write because they have their own unique vision of the world that they eventually choose to share with others.
Of course, I can't know for sure. Not all stories are created equal—some are better than others—but my gut feeling (and everyone's entitled to one) is that most of these vampire tales exist solely to hit a contest deadline. If there wasn't a contest, these authors wouldn't even think about writing vampires. It’s pretty ironic that Victoria Faust, who’s known as a "vampire" writer, actually stays furthest from the trope by using vampirism as nothing more than a metaphor.

I don't know, I haven't managed to get through all of them yet, and honestly, what I have read so far hasn't really hit me that hard...
Regarding Victoria Faust, she’s written about vampires so much at this point that she probably sees them from an entirely new—metaphorical, in this case—perspective 😉

Well, I wouldn't know. I haven't read it and I don't plan to. I was actually thinking of using that title for my own work 😠 , but thankfully, I have some backups.
So, they're that bad? Honestly, if you saw mine, you'd see they have everything except humor. (barely any, really...)

For me, nothing beats that combination of the bloody blister in the bathroom and the old lady morphing into a dad holding a cup full of blood instead of tea. That’s the imagery that really stuck with me. Sadly enough!

I’ve been watching horror movies since I was three years old—can you believe that?—and honestly, I think I’ve become somewhat desensitized to the genre over the years. I thought I was totally numb to the scares, but "It" absolutely terrified the living daylights out of me! It was one of those rare films that actually got under my skin. Suddenly, I found myself checking under my bed, staring suspiciously at the bathtub drain, and even feeling uneasy around the toilet... ugh, just pure goosebumps. Even so, I find the whole genre incredibly fascinating.

I first saw 'It' back when I was still in elementary school—way back when video rental stores were actually a thing. A few years later, they aired it on TV. Honestly, I thought it was 😍 and I still think it's 😍
