How to make your own music video

I mean, I get it, you have to record the music and play it back. But how on earth am I supposed to sync the track with the lip movements? Like that Beyoncé spoof on YouTube. So, I film people singing, move the footage over to my computer, strip the audio from the clip, but then... how do I actually make the song line up with the mouth moving?

That was my first thought too 😬

If you don't have the capacity to handle such a fundamental task—honestly—then perhaps you shouldn't have even bothered stepping onto a film set in the first place.

Use Final Cut Pro for the syncing and editing... as for the audio side of things, just handle that with Microsoft Office... 👍

I mean, I was just trying to mess around and make something for fun, you know? But whatever, it doesn't matter much now.

Man, you are overcomplicating things for no reason...

1. If you want to look "urban," grab a subway through the city and shoot street scenes, then slap on some effects (you know, blur, grain, smudge...). Then just stand at a busy intersection late at night for a few hours, speed the footage up, and sprinkle those clips throughout the video. Boom. You’ve got a real music video.

2. If you want a "rural" vibe, round up the crew and go eat some BBQ somewhere while slamming some red wineeeee—and let the local diner or the car wash pay for everything since they're technically the sponsors (just toss their logo in there discreetly).

3. If you want to be actually modern, just shoot static shots of body parts (half a face looking down, half a face looking away, a hand, a shoulder, the back of a head... stuff like that) alternating between the lead singer and some hot model (if the singer is female, find a metrosexual guy). Then throw in some shots of a feather blowing in the wind, a rusty lighthouse, water dripping... basically anything visually catchy. Edit them faster and faster as the song progresses, building up to an orgasmic climax of sound and color.

He wants to synchronize...
