FERC is definitely not playing!

So, day one of the festival was actually pretty decent even without any local bands 😬 (except for IBM).

Peach Pitt 👍 👍
I finally listened to them for the first time (total embarrassment on my part). They’re good, they’ll be back, and honestly, there’s no need to even mention it...

I grabbed a tiger print shirt and I've been rocking it everywhere. All those fake non-alternative types can laugh all they want about how cool my shirt is and where I got the idea. Pure LUXURY!

My niece (who's only 8 months old!) actually made it to a punk show 😍 😘

Saturday, May 27, 2006.

DULE AND BONACA - is this guy some kind of legend over by the hotel terrace?

I mean, I think people were shouting at him to play "Fertilizer," but from way back in the crowd

NEGATIVE ORIENTATION - honestly, their song titles are better than the actual band and the music combined

Civil Disobedience - they totally outshined all seven punks who showed up

DEAD KENNEDYS cover band - playing on the hotel patio🙄

CARMEN MADONNA - holy crap, those rhymes and lyrics🤮 got labeled as the "Rijeka version of Mario Kovac"—with apologies to Mario Kovac, obviously

7 DISLIKES - 😱

THE ORANGE STRIPS - just rip up the keyboards and toss them; and if you're supposed to be Placebo, where's the eyeliner? 😬

TIGERS MILK - almost bad, really... those pauses were terrible again... though I gotta give props to the last one

MY BUDDY MOOSE - and what about the mandolin, man?

PEACH PITT - everything is everythinggggg!!!!

The retirees were practically running for their hotels during the stroll once they heard the noise😈

WELCOMIN' COMMITTEE IN FLAMES - people were yelling at them to learn how to play Razor, especially when Columbus put the drum kit right over his beautiful head and the cymbals sounded like trash cans🙏 🙏 🙏

I won't say anything about the crowd—I guess since it's basically a quasi-festival and free, I shouldn't have expected much anyway...

edit: thanks, Grandpa🙂

Oh, I almost forgot:
Welcoming Committee in Flames is basically THE WORST BAND IN THE UNIVERSE!
They seriously need to shut up that "lead singer"

Well, looks like I didn't miss much by spending the whole day grilling out in the Hamptons 😬 (aside from meeting the Borg 😢)

I'm going to toss in a few shots of my own, and I'll just say that Peach Pitt is hands down the greatest band in the universe. Even when the Tigers throw a decent party or have an off night at a gig, or when the WCIF sound better now than they did during my first encounter with them, there's still work to be done—like how Gabi really needs to learn how to shred. And honestly, someone should probably just lock the frontman of Carmen Madonna in a barrel and never let him out.

So, here it is:

Some people would genuinely eat just about anything...

image

The host's apartment. It’s still much more organized than mine. Sigh.

image

Ah, a matter of subjective camera angles...

[SLIKA OBRISANA]

Hey there, gorgeous.
Naranja, get ready to drool.

image

A little bit of the Velkamin Committee (that band from Pittsburgh)
Damn announcers.

image

Now, Peach Pitt:

Another terrifying sight:

[SLIKA OBRISANA]

This one isn't scary:

But this one certainly is:

[SLIKA OBRISANA]

All in all, it was a good time.

man, how many posts can one person even squeeze into a single thread? 😍 🙂 😬

[Sean Lee7] I grabbed that burger in Chicago—it was so hot it practically steamed all the way to Minneapolis.
[Grandpa] he died for his country, though.
[Sean Lee7] just like everyone else before him, I guess.

🙂

this might be the best photo ever. I haven't stopped staring since yesterday—long live the wide-angle lens👋

Great shots.

Jackass The Abominable food man—aka The Bigfoot. 🙏 🙏 🙏

gentlepuma20, hey there, kitten.

A guy asking for recommendations from Pittsburgh 👋 It wouldn't work; that garage band sound just isn't our vibe.

Those orange stripes?! Is
Sean Lee7 actually playing them?! Man, I love those guys—their demo is killer. Anyone else feeling the vibe?
Why was I the only one watching the Peach Pitt livestream?! Good grief, someone needs to fix that ASAP!

Aunt 5 finally dropped me off at home. Today was honestly the best day ever. We didn't even need to head out to Atlantic City since we spent the whole time by the ocean, and Moose's mom absolutely crushed it again with the amount and quality of the food.

Yesterday was pretty lame, though. The highlight was definitely that Dead Kennedys cover band. Most of the crowds were dead, and the only person actually vibing during most sets was Borg.

That's 35 autumns worth of memories for Neshal, Moose, and Moose Jr. all wrapped up in one package deal—transportation, food, food, more food, lodging, and a hell of a lot of good laughs.

I didn't take any photos. Just wasn't feeling it. I'm on vacation, after all. But I did pass around those great shots Nicholas King62 took.

I'm heading out to shower and crash.

🤣

I told Columbus those striped ties didn't match. What can you do when people won't listen?

And you're acting pretty high-strung too. Honestly, I thought you were just depressed because of that tumor in your profile picture.

Actually, the ties were fine.
I'm mostly thinking he just has a drum kit going off in his head all day—maybe.😬
