By the way... a movie featuring Turks, Prince Miloš, and Bora Djordjevic—plus lines like "I swear on my mother, I wasn't smoking!"—doesn't actually need any special effects at all.

Would you call it "the devil's" or perhaps something more like "a warrior of the devil"?!

It really depends on whether you’re looking at it from an "Eastern" or "Western" perspective.

I haven't actually sat down to watch the movie yet, but word on the street is it's this massive epic fantasy—something we just don't see much of around here. Apparently, the practical effects and masks are top-tier, too. I heard they even brought in a pro from Hollywood to handle them.

"Satanic" is just a loanword, and it’s a perfectly valid term in American English that doesn't need any translation. If someone doesn't know what it means, it isn't because of where the word comes from, it's because... well, you know.

Satanic is truly something you haven't seen before. I won't list every single strength here—there are plenty of higher-quality elements to dive into—but the main thing is the energy. The crew's average age is around 25. They’ve injected this massive burst of fresh, positive momentum that’s been missing from the new wave of American cinema. This is exactly what that movement looks like. You have the veteran actors taking supporting roles while the kids handle the heavy lifting, the makeup is top-tier, and the story itself is hard to pin down; it isn't strictly a horror or a comedy, yet somehow manages to be both. The girl playing the female lead is actually a fourth-year film directing student. As for the director, he's only 24 and this is his debut, a script he wrote himself. There's no big studio machine backing them up, which is a huge factor. I’m not sure how they’ll manage to compete with those massive Hollywood blockbusters, especially knowing how much influence goes into securing theater screenings...
Anyway, give it a watch. It'll speak for itself.

Well, it bothered me in those other 8,909 movies too, and honestly, it’s still bothering me in this one.

And you didn't even watch a single one of those movies *just* because of the trailer, did you?

Seriously, you guys absolutely have to check this movie out; it’s honestly so incredibly good.

Just wanted to drop my two cents here.
Really solid, really interesting flick.
At times, it was actually brilliant. The acting was top-tier, and the whole thing just had this killer energy.
Usually, horror movies are 🙂
But this one caught me off guard in the best way possible. There’s something uniquely cool about an indie production from the States that hits this hard.
Considering the DIY vibe of the shoot and how young the cast is, they absolutely killed it. 🙏
