I recently got a recommendation for the Samsung 840 evo, but I was wondering if anyone has a better suggestion?
My motherboard is an asrock B75M-GL R2.0. Will it plug in without any issues, or am I going to need some kind of adapter? I'm assuming it should work fine since it's a modern drive, but I figured I’d double-check just to be safe.

It’ll definitely work... that SSD is a solid choice, though you could grab something a bit more budget-friendly like a Kingston V300, or if you want a little extra kick, there's the faster Kingston HyperX 3. Honestly, though—you really can't go wrong with any of them, they're all pretty much in the same ballpark.

Go with Intel (SSD +530 + Series) if you want $27 better value. You get a 5-year warranty with it.

Is the premium price tag on the Samsung 840 Pro 256 actually worth it when you look at other 256 GB models?

Samsung Microsoft drives are easily some of the fastest disks out there right now... which, honestly, makes the price tag feel pretty reasonable.
