Special Effects (and stuff like that)

I don't mind special effects as long as they stay within reason. What really bugs me is when filmmakers go overboard with stuff that's just plain impossible—like in Die Hard, where Willis somehow steers a car to slam perfectly into a helicopter. I mean, sure, it looked awesome at the time, but still 😬

I’m much more of a fan when the effects actually blend seamlessly with the rest of the movie. A perfect example of that is how they handled those wolves in The Day After Tomorrow 🙄 If you've seen it, you know exactly what I'm talking about 😉 At the end of the day, good effects should feel realistic, but if the actual story is a dud, all the flashy visuals in the world won't save it 😬

Honestly, my absolute favorites are the effects from those 70s and 80s classics, like Poltergeist. Nothing over-the-top, yet everything feels so convincing... at least to me 😁

I just realized where the special effects were totally overkill-The Island...honestly, that highway scene worked fine, but the building sequence felt unnecessary and just plain unrealistic..

Modern CGI has completely murdered any sense of imagination or innovation when it comes to set design. Why bother building anything physical when you can just whip it up on a computer for a fraction of the cost? But here’s the thing—you can always tell. There's zero chance you won't see the digital seams. It's a shame, really. Movies are turning into nothing more than a bunch of ones and zeros...

I’m honestly done with movies that go overboard with the CGI. If the special effects don't actually serve the story, the whole thing is just garbage. I wouldn't sit through a movie just to see flashy visuals. What's even the point 😕

In *The Incredibles* and *Spider-Man*, they used them the right way 🙏, but in *Curse* of the Golden Flower, they weren't used at all 🤮

You’re sitting there watching a movie starring Keir Knightly and you think she’s actually reacting, making those intense facial expressions, or physically struggling—but in reality, it’s all just CGI. She's basically just standing there looking vacant while the tech does all the heavy lifting. 😳
