I’ve been dealing with non-stop bleeding for about two and a half weeks now (and no, it isn't my period)... I tried taking some hormonal medication to help, which calmed it down slightly, but it hasn't stopped completely. My OB-GYN basically concluded that it isn't a hormonal issue but something organic, though they honestly admitted, "I don't know what's going on." I am terrified it might be an ectopic pregnancy—that was one of the possibilities they brought up—even though my pregnancy test came back negative. Apparently, those can still happen sometimes. Nothing showed up on the ultrasound so far, but maybe that's just because my last sexual encounter was so recent that if there were an embryo, it wouldn't be large enough to see yet? Hmm. According to the scan, my ovaries look fine... otherwise, I'm feeling some light cramping and bloating, along with occasional sharp, stabbing pains...

Has anyone here dealt with an ectopic pregnancy? I'm really scared 😢

Look, an ectopic pregnancy can be ruled out with a simple blood test, and you’ll have the results in about four hours. I honestly don't understand why this hasn't been done yet.

I'm not sure, he ran two different pregnancy tests on me and both came back negative. So, he figured a blood test would be the best way to go, but since it was Friday afternoon, he pushed it off until after the weekend. 🙄

I honestly don't know what to tell you... I think sitting here theorizing with you about how an ectopic pregnancy might be the cause while simultaneously failing to get you tested is just plain irresponsible.

It feels like they’re playing fast and loose with Primolut, much like some of those old-school medical malpractice cases we used to hear about.

An ectopic pregnancy is a life-threatening emergency. You absolutely need to rule that possibility out immediately.

It’s definitely not an ectopic pregnancy.
