Look, you merged these two threads, but the title is totally off.
Orlando Bloom IS the new James Bond, but he’s playing a young Bond back in his college days before he even became an agent.
The guy we're actually talking about here is presumably the standard Bond.
I’d normally be tearing him apart right now, but honestly, I haven't seen any of his stuff. He’s not really my type, but maybe there's something there. Since there are a bunch of people in here hyping him up (I'm guessing they've actually watched him), I'm feeling a little torn. Maybe he's got what it takes. Let's just ignore that whole Darko Rundek vibe he's got going on. 😁
Think back to Rutger Hauer. Similar blonde hair, but man, that guy had charisma.

I’m just hoping they bring back that Timothy Dalton edge... someone who actually plays Bond with some grit instead of turning him into some soft-hearted romantic...🙄

I honestly can't remember if I've ever actually sat through one of his movies, but some people claim he’s a bad actor—as if that's ever mattered in a James Bond film anyway.

As far as the standard James Bond stuff goes—I couldn't care less. I've never been much of a fan of 007 anyway.
Regarding that Orlando Bloom movie about a young James Bond, though, I'm definitely checking that out. It'll be nice to finally see an action lead who isn't just playing it safe...😛

Right off the bat, Daniel Craig’s physique doesn't exactly scream "convincing ultra-smooth operator."
I've seen maybe one or two full James Bond movies in my lifetime.
They were always a decent enough distraction.

Daniel Craig is just way too intense. When I saw him on the news being picked, my mom, my sister, my best friend, and I were all totally caught off guard.
I’m not even sure about his acting style, but for this role? It feels like total overkill. They aren't exactly looking for an Oscar-caliber performance here; they want someone who looks like women would be tripping over themselves just to get his attention. Instead, he looks like someone you'd actually want to run away from... he's got this almost monstrous vibe that just doesn't work for me. He looks far too rugged. A guy can definitely be a macho man and still be handsome—just look at Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan, they nailed that balance perfectly.
The actor Višnjić really has that classic James Bond look, it's just a shame about the accent...
