yo, someone help me out here. seriously. i ride bmx and slammed my knee yesterday. had this huge bump on it yesterday, it went down a bit today but still... what the hell is that?😢

You posted this five years ago! So, did the "extra leg" finally finish growing, or did that bump ever go away? Also, was it actually bone or just more like a skin growth?

Since we’re already going down this rabbit hole... I’ve got something similar going on on my upper shin. My doctor told me they suspect a tumor and that I need to go in for more testing.
For those of you still hanging around here, what did your doctors end up finding?

No, I don't think your other leg is growing—if I'm not mistaken, my sense is that what you're seeing is actually a ganglion cyst. It just kind of pops up and then disappears. I had one on my hand, right on the outside of the wrist, and—honestly—it looked so ridiculous. Anyway, it eventually went away all on its own after a while. I also had one on my finger, near the base of the palm, that felt like a little ball. I went to see a doctor, and he told me that if I just remembered to massage it with my fingers, it would vanish. I tried it the first day, obviously, but then I forgot about it—though it did end up disappearing on its own over time. I suppose you shouldn't worry too much, but if you're still anxious, maybe go see a doctor so they can give you some actual advice.
