Got a new PC, but there isn't a single PCI slot on the motherboard. I think this is the one I have:
http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=H61M-DGS
I've got two older video cards from my old rig that I can't just toss, so I need to use them.
I bought this:
http://www.made-in-china.com/showroo...ound-Card.html

Ordered it through eBay and plugged it in, but nothing. It’s like the system doesn't even see the connection. I tried messing around with the BIOS settings too, but still nothing. What now?
Anyone got any ideas? I'm not looking to buy a whole new motherboard or new cards—I've already spent way too much 😵
Thanks

It looks a little bit better over here.

Did you plug in the power cable?

Yeah, I did. First, it said the equipment was like new and the PC would boot up again, so I tried that, but nothing...😕

So, what does the manual actually say about those jumpers (the ones on the right and left sides) on this PCI-E card?

Right here http://www.aliexpress.com/store/prod...558769291.html
it says—oh my god 😳—that they all need to be on the left, but mine are on the right. Man, I'm going to go try that now.
I'll let you know.

Yeah, depends on where the USB is located.
Moved everything around, still nothing...🤷

Look, you have to link those two drives via USB so they can actually "talk" to each other. 😉

Did you actually plug in the SATA and USB cables and seat the cards properly? Or did you skip one of those steps?

If you're hooking up a dual-slot card to an internal PCIe bracket connector, the jumpers need to be on the right. If you're connecting to an external port, then the jumpers go on the left.

I did all of that and still nothing. I hooked up the USB, plugged in the SATA, moved the jumpers from one side to the other... still nothing. 👎
I even tried running just a single card to test it. Still nothing.

But there’s gotta be some kind of trick where those PCI slots are glowing blue; I'm going to mess around with it a bit more and see what happens...
