When is that horror trash actually hitting theaters? Has it even arrived yet? I only caught a glimpse of the trailer while I was flipping through Netflix for some HBO shows, and honestly, it looks pretty mindless again—no real plot, nothing clever, just cheap jump scares and special effects. Total garbage all around. Now my friend is practically begging me to go see it with her since nobody else wants to touch this junk, so... ugh. It’s an evening thing anyway. 🙄 My question for you guys is: do you think this movie is total garbage or just straight-up waste?

I watched pornography. It was honestly quite pointless. :/
I caught the trailer for House of Wax yesterday right before that Romerov horror flick; the trailer doesn't actually look bad, even if the cast is incredibly irritating. That said, a film can still succeed despite such distractions—the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is proof enough for me. So, I’ll probably try to download House of Wax before it hits theaters...

The movie was actually a pleasant surprise, despite Paris Hilton and her less talented half—the rest of the cast was decent enough, and Elisha Cuthbert was quite solid in her role. While the plot feels somewhat predictable and leans a bit too heavily into disaster movie tropes toward the end, the core concept is strong, especially the production design. Many details reminded me of a remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (though I think the latter had more impact). Personally, I felt the film could have leaned harder into the psychological elements to build more tension and dread, but even so, I’d give it a 7.5/10, which isn't bad at all. Thankfully, we didn't spend too much time looking at Paris; her death scene was almost entertaining, mostly because the blood popped so well against that bleached hair :lol.
I also doubt they'll let this one slide without a sequel 🙂)

Personally, I found the film to be absolutely excellent! I was genuinely struck by the depth of the characterizations—not to mention the narrative complexity—and that incredibly fresh, innovative take on the horror genre. Now, some skeptics might dismiss this as just another teen slasher, but I beg you—hold your judgment! Paris and Elisha Cuthbert prove they are true rising stars of the silver screen, and I suspect we will be seeing much more of them in the future.

If I only watched movies with cohesive plots and genius characters, I'd probably see fewer than 20 films a year.

I watched it last week, and honestly, it was quite alright.
In fact, I found myself rather pleasantly surprised. The death scenes were executed beautifully
(the performance by Paris was particularly striking), along with several moments that caught me off guard (for instance, when the killer tapes Elizabeth's mouth shut and cuts her finger—they don't go overboard with mutilating the main heroine, thankfully), a handsome lead actor 😍, and even the central concept of a city teeming with rebels was quite compelling.
I truly cannot fathom why people are disparaging Paris; she performed her role quite well.
If I were to find a flaw, perhaps it would be that I knew from the very first minute who would survive, and the plot twists felt somewhat predictable.
But all things considered, I am satisfied. Very much so.

I haven't actually sat down to watch this horror flick before, but I caught it on ABC last night, and I have to say, it was quite decent. It’s a bit of a rarity for me since I find most horror movies to be rather underwhelming, but this one was genuinely engaging and held my interest. I suppose I won't even get into commenting on Paris, though I did think the dynamic between the brother and sister was handled quite well. And, interestingly enough, despite being a horror film, it didn't rely on those cheap, mindless jump scares that usually ruin the genre for me.

This is honestly one of those top-tier horror flicks. I've been thinking about downloading it again since it's been way too long since my last rewatch.

I haven't actually sat down to watch the remake, but let's be real—nothing touches the original:
