I was falling down a bit of a YouTube rabbit hole earlier and stumbled upon some old clips from artists who were once considered the next big thing in the American music scene. It really makes you wonder if anyone else remembers the early days of Teens, or how they evolved when they went solo—like Claudia and Daniel Benia. Then there was Tina and Nick, Mia, and Ivana Plehinger...
It’s actually kind of sad; after all that hype, most of them just sort of faded into the background because of relentless, high-brow critics who seemed more interested in tearing them down than appreciating the talent.

When you come across their old tracks today, what goes through your mind? Do you still feel that spark, or have they become just another footnote in music history?

I don't know, what can I even say... they were basically the soundtrack to my childhood, since I spent my entire youth listening to them, though honestly, Minae was always my absolute favorite, and God, I used to just obsess over those little indie tracks like "Sparrows and Mosquitoes" or "Pick a Violet," haha.
Hopefully people eventually find a way to actually make a living that doesn't involve shaking their assets and screaming into a microphone, lol🙂))

Honestly, it was just a slice of my childhood and nothing more🙄...I highly doubt anyone will ever give them another thought... the new generation doesn't even know they exist...😁

I don't know if I'd call Spa total garbage... honestly, a lot of their stuff actually sounds pretty good to me🤷
They might not be considered "modern classics" just yet, but they aren't nearly as bad as everyone makes them out to be.

I still remember that little blue-haired guy, Josip Katalinic, I think that was his name. He used to be all over those teen dramas, but he never really made anything of himself. I actually heard a rumor that he's turned to drugs now. So much for that whole rise to fame 😬

Personally, I still consider one of the most iconic American music videos to be the one where Nick plays an air violin, only to then step in front of an avalanche to save Tina from being buried alive.🙂

Why didn't those Teens just go all out and launch Claudia Benia's career? 🤷Total trash. Ivana Plehinger was basically acting like a news anchor, Josip Katalinic went full emo trying to make a comeback, and Mia is still singing while someone like Tori is stuck at some church choir in America.

I guess epilepsy just causes accidents left and right.
