Hey everyone! I'm new to this group, so I wanted to reach out and pick your brains about something... Ever since I had my baby, I’ve been incredibly thin, and honestly, I just can't seem to put on any weight no matter what I do. I recently went in to get some blood work done—my kidneys are totally fine, and while I deal with anemia, my iron levels are actually okay—but my platelet count came back low. About two years ago, I ended up in the ER because I was dealing with this intense stabbing pain in my head and really high blood pressure. It was so bad that I couldn't even handle being in a room with the lights turned on (and that was even in the evening!). To make matters worse, the doctor wouldn't even listen to me when I tried to explain the specific pain and symptoms I was feeling; she just kept insisting I go see an OB-GYN instead. So, I did, and everything there came back perfectly normal. But then, the other day, I was watching Dr. Oz on TV, and he was describing symptoms that sound exactly like what I've been going through regarding a brain aneurysm—which sounds absolutely terrifying. Is it okay for me to go back and specifically ask for certain tests to see if this is actually what's causing all my issues? Thanks so much for any advice!

hey, I'm new to this group, just wanted to ask... I've been super skinny ever since I had my baby and I just can't seem to put on any weight,

... maybe try drinking some Glucerna or something... it definitely helps with the weight and keeps your blood counts where they need to be

You can try looking for them, but honestly, who knows if you'll actually find anything useful. Personally, I wouldn't even bother mentioning him or watching Dr. Oz.

Just reach out to Dr. Oz then and let him give you a diagnosis and whatever else.

Look, I wasn't looking for silly answers—I was hoping for some actual, smart advice. I’m one of those people who loves watching educational shows where you actually learn something new, so I don't see why it's such a big deal to ask questions... I have a little girl at home, and honestly, of course I'm worried about something happening to her...

You could totally be dealing with migraines if you're getting headaches along with light sensitivity... for me, a migraine always hits with a killer headache and photophobia, plus I get this weird aura right before the pain kicks in where my vision goes all wonky—everything looks distorted or like I'm staring through water, just super blurry.
As for an aneurysm, I actually know a few people who’ve dealt with them. One lady had these brutal daily headaches, drooping eyelids, double vision, and her face would occasionally go weak on one side. Turns out she did have an aneurysm, so she had to get surgery. Honestly, she was lucky she even had symptoms to tip her off.
Based on what you're describing, I don't think you need to freak out about an aneurysm. But look, if you're losing sleep over it, just go see a doctor and let them decide if you need any scans.
One thing though—I'd really suggest you skip mentioning Dr. Oz or trying to self-diagnose an aneurysm.
