Has anyone ever tried using Botox injections to treat muscle spasms?

I was wondering if anyone here has any insight regarding Botox injections to treat muscle spasms in children with cerebral palsy. My child has been offered this treatment, but I honestly don't know the first thing about it.

This therapy is still relatively new on the scene, but you can see some really solid results when dealing with hypertonicity. The key, though, is pairing it with physical therapy—ideally using the Bobath neurodevelopmental approach.

The catch is that Botox doesn't offer a permanent fix, so you have to stay on top of the treatments to keep seeing progress.
