Stop trying to act all high and mighty and comparing anyone to Keanu Reeves. Once I see more movies, maybe I'll be more objective, clearly, but right now joining in on the hate train against Orlando Bloom is the last thing on my mind. What I saw was good (Legolas again 😉). That's all I'm saying.

Someone’s probably gonna shut me down for this, but honestly? I find Orlando so incredibly bland and forgettable that it’s actually scary. He’s easily the most vanilla, uninteresting "Hollywood actor" out there... I mean, ever since LOTR, I just haven't gotten the hype. Okay, sure, he's good-looking, though personally, I don't think he's even that hot... maybe it was just that long blonde hair that hooked everyone, because he never really stood out or showed any real range. (I guess his role wasn't huge enough to show anything, but even then, real actors can handle that, so I eventually gave him a chance). I just never understood why people worship him so much while Viggo Mortensen—who is a straight-up genius—just gets left in the background...

....And if I hadn't given Orli a fair shot, I'd never have known. I thought, okay, fine, maybe he'll win me over, so I watched Troy and Elizabethtown and Pirate... but nothing. He just can't act. I mean, I just don't see him as an actor, period...

Ugh, exactly! We are totally on the same page here! Those are the exact words I was looking for—charisma and depth. He just doesn't have them. To me, he seems... HOLLOW.

How on earth did he manage to land roles in those massive blockbusters then? It’s gotta be who you know, right? It’s the exact same deal with Goran Vičnjić—if he hadn't had that connection to George Clooney, there's no way he would've ever landed a part.

I'm totally with you on this, northernangler17 🙂. I saw Troy, and man, the Governor was incredible, while Orlando was just so pathetic and whiny—I mean, okay, that was his character, but still, total garbage. He just doesn't stir up any emotions for me. And Elizabethtown? Boring movie, end of story, and he was just like a wooden statue—ugh. Honestly, he needs to take on a real challenge, like playing some mentally unstable guy or a maniac or something, just so I can actually see him *act*, because every single one of his roles has been so incredibly one-dimensional.

I thought Elizabethtown was actually a decent enough movie, but HE just kind of "got in the way," if you know what I mean. I kept thinking, "Okay, now the Eagle is finally going to prove me wrong," but nope. The only scene in that whole thing that actually stuck with me was when he was dancing in the woods 😍 but the tragedy is—he wasn't even acting! They just filmed him jumping around from a distance, so theoretically, it could have been anyone 🤣

hehe, true, we definitely vibe on a lot of stuff 😘 and I always love finding people who get it 🙂—it's way better than constantly getting into arguments with everyone.

Acting and Bloom are two concepts that just don't belong in the same sentence. I’ve heard rumors he walked away from Hollywood to go find some spiritual enlightenment or whatever. Honestly, good for him—I'm actually a little jealous.

I honestly don't see the appeal of him at all.

Whatever you guys think about him—and honestly, where he’s even landed these days—is entirely up to you. But when it comes to his performance as Legolas in *The Lord of the Rings*, that is absolute law.
And if anyone has the nerve to claim he can't act in that movie, they’re going to have to deal with me.

Legolas has easily been the highlight of Orlando Bloom's career so far. I could probably stomach any of those other movies mentioned above, but seeing him in Heavenly Kingdom was actually painful. It’s hard to tell where the bad acting ends and the terrible filmmaking begins.🙂 🙂 🙂

To be honest, I think Orlando Bloom is a pretty mediocre actor. If you look back at Kingdom of Heaven, Norton—who’s wearing that mask for half the movie, if I remember correctly—actually manages to convey way more emotion through his facial expressions than Bloom does. Just think about it.
