Does this stuff have more caffeine in it?
I mean, seriously, why don't they ever just list the actual caffeine content on the coffee labels?

They claim a single Red Bull packs the same punch as six or seven cups of regular coffee. Either way, Red Bull definitely takes the lead.

I downed one can and halfway through I started wondering how anyone can actually stomach that garbage. Honestly, I haven't tasted anything worse in my entire life.

And I bet there’s definitely something in Red Bull... honestly, my stomach feels absolutely terrible after drinking it... just awful...

Just light one up afterward—it helps. 😁>

I used to love Red Bull. It had that bubblegum vibe. 😍
Back when I could still handle it... 😢

So what can't you do now, Maria Morris5?

I know you know I don't smoke.

Look, I know you know that I know you're a non-smoker. I'm just wondering if you realize I'm messing with you. 😉

It is quite probable that the concentration is higher in a Red Bull. I typically find myself reaching for a Nescafé when I feel the need to give my stomach a bit of a break from standard coffee, given how gentle it tends to be on the system.

While it may possess a higher intensity, Bull doesn't seem to deliver much in the way of actual caffeine effects; in my estimation, taurine is the more significant component within that formula. Personally, I have found it useful only for mitigating fatigue during periods of intense physical exertion, but as far as mental alertness or any similar claims go—it’s a total bust.

The flavor profile isn't altogether unpleasant, provided you have a fondness for raspberry. I usually find it much improved once you mix it with a bit of vodka.. 😁

Hmm, I have to say, it really does make a difference when it comes to staying awake.... I mean, I usually only reach for it when I’m staring down a long haul on the highway. In those cases, I’ll prep two cans just in case, and if I start feeling my eyes getting heavy, I’ll grab one and it honestly wakes me right up... probably even better than a cup of coffee..

The only thing is, if the drive is super long and the sleepiness starts creeping back in, I just pull over and take a nap. Because, I guess, if I’m still feeling exhausted even after two Red Bulls, then I am just seriously, deeply tired.🙂

neonsailor12 said:Personally, I’ve only ever used it to help manage fatigue during intense workouts; as for staying alert or any of that other hype—it's total nonsense.

I think I’ve had Red Bull maybe twice in my entire life. Once, I was absolutely exhausted, so I grabbed one and—wow—immediately after, I just crashed and went straight to sleep... yeah, about those wings they promise.🙄 So, I don't buy into the energy spike hype either.

I’m not exactly a caffeine addict, either. Sometimes I won't have any at all, usually I just stick to one a day if I bother at all, and rarely two. At home, I’ll have a Nescafé, but I don't really touch strong drip coffee. I can function perfectly fine without it.😁 (For now. Check back with me in five years.)

Now, regarding actual coffee, it has this "delayed reaction" effect on me. That’s how I describe it. I’ll drink a cup, and if I’m tired, nothing happens initially, but then about two hours later, I suddenly become hyperactive.

As for mixing Red Bull with vodka? No way. Vodka hits me harder than anything else as it is; I don't need extra additives. Unless it's juice.

Tried Red Bull once and the taste was straight up nasty. Didn't feel a single thing, even if I tried to force it. What a joke.

So neonsailor12 claims he drinks Nescafé sometimes because it’s "milder" than regular coffee?!? Look, Nescafé just doesn't have the grit of a strong drip coffee, but calling it milder? No way. A heavy cup of black coffee hits me harder than liters of that stuff ever could.

Maybe it’s the acidity, since dark roast can be a real gut-punch. But thinking Nescafé is weaker—don't think so...

I'm sticking with the real stuff!!😁

God, does that Red Bull not actually wake you up?! 😲

Honestly, once I finally graduate, I should probably send some kind of donation to that factory just as a thank you. 😁

Ugh, I wonder how many credits I’d have right now if it wasn't for that miracle in a can. My only issue? After I crush an exam and finally head home to crash, I can't even close my eyes. I'm dead tired... but sleep just won't come. So most of my exam days basically turn into a full day spent hunting for lost sleep. 🙄

It’s mostly all in your head (aside from that nasty aftertaste 😁), I suppose. If you can just stop thinking about how a greasy breakfast burrito keeps you wired, and if you don't hear those commercials every few hours claiming a certain energy drink will give you wings 😁... then
maybe you'll be fine.

If you just convince yourself that a greasy breakfast burrito keeps you wired—and you hear those commercials blaring on every corner day after day—you'll eventually start feeling like that caffeine hit actually gives you wings. 😁

I actually think it tastes great.

As for getting "hypnotized"... sure, maybe that plays a part. But I once pulled an all-nighter fueled by nothing but cheap coffee from Turkey, so I’m pretty sure I could power through a massive exam with a textbook in one hand and zero sleep in the other. 😢

I have friends who swear they can't function without their morning coffee. I used to think that was total bullshit... it’s all mental.

I'm a smoker, sure, but coffee always tasted terrible to me. To my taste, Turkey is 🙂 , and espresso—which I call a tiny cup of pure poison🙂 🙂 .
Then this Nescafé 3-in-1 showed up. Easy to make, actually tastes good. So, I started a little tradition. Get to the office, whip up a cup, check my emails, and get to work.
Two days ago, I ran out of supplies. It didn't even cross my mind to go grab more.
Yesterday at work, I was being a complete bitch 🙂 🙂 (which is weird, because I finished my period seven days ago, and I usually try to watch how I act then). I just couldn't focus. I snapped at some poor intern over some tiny mistake that didn't even matter... I came home agitated and yelled at my husband just because he fell asleep in his armchair with the remote in his lap...
Same thing happened this morning. Walked into the office feeling pissed... couldn't get anything done... Two hours ago, things hit a breaking point. To avoid a repeat of yesterday's meltdown... I stepped outside, sat down at a cafe, and ordered a coffee. After the first sip, I felt better. Finished the cup... suddenly, I felt like a new person. Went back to the office, called that poor intern into my cubicle, and apologized for the shitshow yesterday.

So now I'm sitting here wondering.... am I a caffeine addict?

Now, I am a smoker, but coffee has always had a terrible taste to me. Turkish coffee is far too 🙂 , and espresso—which I personally refer to as a tiny cup of pure poison—is just 🙂 🙂 .
Recently, I discovered those Nescafé 3-in-1 packets. They are incredibly easy to whip up, and honestly, they taste quite good. And so, I inadvertently started a little tradition. I walk into the office, fix myself a cup, scan my emails, and dive straight into work.

Yesterday at the office, I was being a complete bitch 🙂 🙂 (which is strange, because my period ended seven days ago, and I usually try so hard to watch my attitude during that time). I just couldn't concentrate at all. I actually snapped at a poor intern over some tiny mistake that wasn't even worth mentioning... I came home feeling so agitated, and I even lost it on my darling husband just because he fell asleep in his armchair with the remote in his lap...
The same thing happened again this morning. I showed up to work feeling completely cranky... I just couldn't get anything done... About two hours ago, my mood finally hit a breaking point. To prevent another meltdown like yesterday's... I stepped outside, sat down at a local cafe, and ordered a coffee. After that very first sip, I felt a sense of relief. I finished the cup... and suddenly, I felt like a whole new person. I went back into the office, called that poor intern into my room, and apologized for the mess I made yesterday.

And so here I am, sitting here wondering.... am I actually addicted to caffeine?

I used to think so too (and I really mean *used* to) that you couldn't be addicted to coffee. Then one day I decided to test it: I told myself I simply wouldn't drink any, just to see what would happen. The end result was nothing but nerves, headaches, and exhausted eyes. I don't know if it was just a mental trick or something real, but I certainly wouldn't want to go through it again. Even though I usually prefer a heavy, dark brew, I don't think this Nescafé 3-in-1 could ever cause an addiction since there's barely any actual coffee in it compared to the milk!
Perhaps your reasons are a bit different than mine?!

Maybe your reasons are different entirely...

It isn't cappuccino... I've had Nescafé coffee, and I've had Nescafé cappuccino. I know the difference... This is just basic instant coffee... you basically just mixed everything into one packet with a little bit of powdered milk.

Honestly, I wouldn't want to pick up another addiction... cigarettes are enough for me (actually, they're too much).
As for other reasons, I'm not really sure. Things are going fine right now. That's why I'm questioning it. Just random jitters... It's the same feeling I got when I (unsuccessfully) tried to quit smoking.
Tomorrow I'll try starting the day without any coffee. We'll see how it goes...

I’m honestly not sure at this point which comes first—the cause or the effect—but there are certain lectures at my university that I just cannot seem to power through while fully awake unless I have some coffee in my system beforehand. There was this one time when I didn't have any change for the vending machine, and after about half an hour, I completely conked out right there in the front row, smack in front of the professor. Ever since that disaster, I decided it wasn't worth experimenting with my routine. ☕

To be honest, I really wouldn't want to develop yet another addiction... cigarettes are already enough for me (if not way too much).

Oh wow! In that case, it might actually be possible that you're getting hooked because Nescafé can be quite addictive. But why go through the trouble of detoxing? Having one cup a day is perfectly fine, though drinking about five a day is a bit much. Personally, I don't think this is dangerous, so I don't see any reason for you to start quitting... just enjoy it, dear!☕
