Itchy eyes help!

..barely slept at all today..so I thought I'd try some chamomile compresses on my eyes because they felt weird..like they were super dry..

..but after those compresses, my eyes have gone absolutely haywire..everything is bright red..I can barely even open them..it feels like there are a hundred eyelashes stuck in each eye..it’s stinging like crazy inside and underneath, though nothing looks swollen yet..did I maybe have an allergic reaction to the chamomile??? I can't get to a doctor right now, so maybe it'll just pass..my eyes are just horribly dry..I can't even settle down because this stinging won't stop 😢

I don't know about you guys, but I’m actually allergic to chamomile. Last time I tried using those herbal compresses on my eyelids, I broke out in such a terrible rash all over my face... it was honestly a nightmare. My eyelids swelled up twice their normal size, and my eyes were itching like crazy for hours.
If I even drink a cup of chamomile tea, it gives me terrible stomach pains.

It'll probably die down in a few hours...

But it’s finally letting up... now it just itches in the corners of my eyes..and they're a little swollen..I inhaled some chamomile while breathing it in so everything flew straight up my nose and I couldn't stop sneezing 😁..going to bed now..hopefully it'll be better in the morning..:

Does he ever get that "dry eye" feeling during the summer, or just whenever it gets hot and the air turns dry?

For me, it’s a constant battle; last summer I found myself washing my face twenty or thirty times a day just to get some semblance of relief.

I experience the same thing, though for me it’s more of an intense itch—and if I rub them too much, they end up swollen.

In my case, I’m pretty sure it’s being triggered by all the weeds out in the yard.

I mean, you can just use eye drops for that.

There are those eye drops meant for moisturizing. They’re a lifesaver, especially if you wear contacts. I think they run about $10 (Alcoa) per bottle.

But seriously, I don't get it—your eyes are stinging, your vision is blurry, you can barely even blink without pain, and yet here you are, sitting in front of a computer typing on a forum?

I'm not even questioning if what you wrote is legit (someone else will tackle that), I'm just wondering about the logic here. Like, wouldn't you rather just stare at a green wall or something instead of absolutely murdering your eyes with a monitor?

I’m hitting up this forum because I honestly have nobody else to ask... I should probably just start my own thread and write a few posts there, but I also had to turn in a ten-page seminar paper today...

...has anyone actually tried Refresh Contact drops??? I heard they were the gold standard, but I'm wondering about the price tag...

I wear soft contact lenses, so I definitely need some drops, but I've never used any before.

Honestly, I think your best bet regarding those eye drops is to just touch base with your ophthalmologist. Or, you could always head over to one of those big-name retailers like Target or Walmart that have an optometrist's office right inside...

I rely on them whenever I’ve been wearing my contact lenses for too long—though honestly, I find myself reaching for them even without the lenses in, just when my eyes start stinging from a lack of sleep, a bit of smoke in the air, or those marathon study sessions that go on way too late.
