If these machines and similar gadgets actually worked the way they claimed, you’d see them being used constantly by the people who need them most—professional athletes.

In theory, using a muscle stimulator shouldn't be harmful since you're essentially just applying high-frequency, low-energy current. While the contractions themselves feel quite intense, I guess the real catch is that you won't actually build much muscle mass without resistance. It’s almost like standing in place and just tensing up your muscles without any actual weight behind it.
