You guys already covered the praise, so I'll stick to the gripes... The movie drags way too long. Once you cross that two-hour mark, you just stop caring about who ends up dead. Plus, the logic is totally broken—there’s no way Depp is cursed when he only held that gold coin for five minutes, while the girl and Bloom had it the whole time.😕
It's a decent pirate flick, nothing exhausting, but let's be honest, it isn't groundbreaking either. You can only really call it a hit if you factor in the genre and Depp's presence.

Depp always plays some gritty street kid, but he looks jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak good here 🙂 damn, okay! 😛
The music is incredible. Definitely need to grab the soundtrack 👍
I'm satisfied with the "visuals," especially that scene where the "skeletons" are walking underwater....
😂 And those two in the boat? That part when he gets hit in the eye with a fork... holy crap

Since this is coming from the duo of Jerry Bruckheimer and that total nobody Gora Verbinskog, I have to say the movie is surprisingly fun and actually feels quite classy—though it definitely wouldn't hurt if they trimmed about 40 or 50 minutes off the runtime.
...and honestly, Depp is just incredible!
He didn't just channel his inner Keith Richards, either; he also captured that vibe of Pepe Le Pew from the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes—you know, that cartoon character who thinks he’s some kind of ultimate ladies' man, constantly chasing after that poor little cat trying to win her over. 😁

Good grief, what an absolute dumpster fire. This might actually be the worst "potentially good" movie ever made. The first hour? Honestly, it’s great. But then—I kid you not—they just stretch it out forever. It gets soooooooo booooorrrriiiiinnnggggg.
Aside from a few decent bits, the humor is about as sharp as a Disney cartoon for toddlers. They even forced Johnny Depp to ramble through some totally brainless, unfunny nonsense.
Give me a break...

I can't believe the glowing reviews this mediocre movie is getting. Come on people, have some standards! Whatever happened to having actual taste? The film starts off fine, but then the quality just falls off a cliff. The cast isn't terrible—Johnny Depp is alright, but nothing special—and I don't even want to get into the plot.😲It's packed with clichés and honestly gets pretty boring in spots. Half the audience in the theater was snoring loudly, and I mean it.🙂rating:

The movie was a blast, though I definitely had to wait a while before seeing Orlando Bloom and his leading lady finally share a hug!🙂
Orlando Bloom is incredibly handsome, and Johnny Depp is just fantastic 🙂

I caught it last night,
The pacing is definitely all over the place—the first thirty minutes fly by while setting the whole stage, but then you’re stuck waiting an hour and a half just to see how it ends.
Did anyone catch Gruber? He’s the guy at the start collecting those harbor fees; I was honestly so happy to see him—it immediately took me back to "My Little Tank" and all those old 'Allo 'Allo! vibes.
Just my two cents on the whole curse thing: the way I read it, the curse hits whoever actually takes a gold coin from that stone chest. Since Orlando Bloom and that woman didn't touch them, they could carry the coins around without suddenly turning thin under the moonlight.

Clichés?
The movie is literally called Pirates of the Caribbean... You've got pirates going "aaargh"... drinking rum... singing about rum... pirates with eye patches... peg legs... some little animal sitting on the captain's shoulder... a pretty damsel... a stern officer... a romantic hero...
AND YOU'RE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE DAMN CLICHÉS!!!!

Depp looks almost like he's in drag in this one. I mean, seriously—just look at him in Sleepy Hollow or from Hell compared to how he looks here. Why does he need that much makeup? And don't even get me started on those whiskers...
The movie is decent enough to pass the time, though—there are definitely better flicks out there.

Depp looks like a transvestite in that movie.
You must have read that in the evening news. They gave him a measly two-star rating there.
I haven't seen the film myself yet, though I suspect it might not be quite as bad as people say.

I haven't actually sat down to watch it yet—but honestly? I don't think it's all that bad.
Yeah, I did. I read that review in the Evening Standard, and man, I totally agree with what they said about Depp. Still... if you ask me? I'd give the movie a solid 3.5 stars, not just a 2.

I honestly thought this was going to be another overrated flop—you know how everything gets hyped up lately—but after actually sitting down to watch it, I found it pretty decent! It's a fun, lighthearted comedy with just enough fantasy elements to keep things interesting. 👏

Yeah. I'm still kind of reeling from it, so I can barely even find the words. 😁
