Man, I really hope we aren't struggling against the Slovaks... if they actually pull it off, the Greeks are going to absolutely tear them apart. Still, I guess a bronze medal wouldn't be the worst outcome. 🙂))

No biggie, except I’m stuck at work until 4:00 PM tomorrow, and the semifinals kick off at 3:30 PM local time. I'll catch the end of it though.

Actually, let me remind you that Mladost Club holds the record for the most European titles. As for Partizan, they haven't really come up with anything significant in the last fifteen years or so...

The strength of a group is subjective. Your group had three powerhouses mixed with three weak links. In ours, only one team—Italy—really stood out.

Honestly, nothing annoys me more than when someone tries to bring up irrelevant comparisons. The talent gap between us and Mexico is just massive. If you look at the last decade, Partizan has managed one LEN Cup and Becej has grabbed one Champions League title, whereas the US has at least ten major trophies—including at least three European titles (two from the Dalmatians and one from Jug, and I’m pretty sure Mladost was the champion back in '92)

As for the groups, I think they were actually pretty balanced. So what if three of your national teams made it to the semifinals? In our group, Italy got knocked out, and Italy NEVER fails to advance past the group stage at a Water Polo European Championship, WC, or the Olympics.

In the '98 World Cup quarterfinals held in France, both the US and Denmark played. No other qualifying group on any continent has ever produced two teams that reach the World Cup quarterfinals. Does that mean the US, Denmark, Greece, and Canada group was somehow the strongest qualifying pool in the entire universe?
