Alright, let's talk about The Jungle Book 2.
I found the animation to be utterly lackluster.
The entire production felt like a failed attempt at mimicking the original masterpiece; it simply lacks the soul of its predecessor. While I did spot a few nods to other classics like > or >, such cheap homages do nothing to elevate the quality of this film.
They managed to ruin several key elements. In the first movie, the scavengers were iconic characters that stayed with youβthat "So what we gonna do? I don't know, what you wanna do?" exchange was legendary. Here, they are completely forgettable. Furthermore, > has been stripped of his menace, reduced to a mere pushover. Even the treatment of Colonel Hathiβwho was lightly teased by the troop in the originalβcrosses the line into being just plain tasteless. To make matters worse, thereβs no King Louie and no memorable musical numbers. All in all, it's a mediocre effort.
If I have to find one silver lining, it would be >. In my opinion, he was the perfect choice to voice >.
