Fine, sure, but that doesn't mean you should just go around having unprotected sex. My boyfriend's whole "don't worry, I'm careful" routine isn't exactly a comforting thought for me. Maybe your friend just had a bad run with one specific brand, but if she tried something else, she might actually be happy with the results.😉
Unfortunately, it’s not like everyone finds the perfect pill on their first try. Personally, I've been on Diane for six months now and I feel amazing. Honestly, it works way better for me than Celist did, even though I heard nothing but absolute horror stories about Diane 😁

I've been on Diane for six months now... honestly, I haven't seen any weight gain at all. In fact, I actually dropped about 10 pounds. My blood work looks pretty decent too, though my TSH levels are running slightly high.

The only thing is, my breakouts just won't clear up... but otherwise, 👍

Honestly, things were going great for me on Diane for a few years... everything felt totally fine. But then? Total disaster.
Once I finally stopped taking them, the side effects hit me like a ton of bricks—it was brutal. It took about three months for my hormones to finally settle back down, but even then, the acne came crawling back. It’s been hanging around for three years now—knock on wood, I'm trying to stay positive.

I’ve been on Diane for about 6 years now, and honestly, they’re the only ones that actually work for me.
They aren't really meant for birth control—my doctor mentioned that since they're mini-pills—but they’re great for balancing hormones. It helps keep my unwanted hair growth somewhat under control.
I get some headaches during the first few days after taking a break, and my libido takes a bit of a hit too (not exactly what you want when talking about contraception, ha 🙂, but everything else is fine).
I tried Celist for a while once and gained 15 pounds in a single month. Once I switched back to Diane, those 15 pounds just magically vanished.
As for the perks, both my sister and I have seen our naturally oily skin turn totally dry, so we're constantly reaching for heavy moisturizers. Plus, all my acne cleared up—she deals with breakouts on her back, and I get them right before my period... that's pretty much all I can think of right now.🙂
Basically, just see what works for your body, and if it isn't Diane, keep looking.
Like I said, Celist was terrible for me, even though I read so many people saying they had good luck with them.
