New Year's Eve Party Playlist

Alright, I’m calling on the people here who actually have a decent ear for music: driftingeagle27, Cody... I can't recall all the names right now, but please suggest some better mainstream hits from overseas, because if I don't find some actual quality to listen to, I'm going to end up stuck listening to my local independent radio station and inviting my old classmates over, though they definitely aren't into Gothic or rock or anything like that.
I guess I could settle for Eminem, since I can handle him, but what else is out there?!😢

You can definitely throw on some Depeche Mode, but Clean and my other favorites probably won't fit the vibe, so you might be better off just sticking to the heavy hitters.

Then there's R.E.M. It's wild how much those un-indie kids actually dig R.E.M. (Around here, they usually just call them 'A-R-E-M' because they don't really get them, but hey, they'll listen).

And Blur! Throw in some Blur hits, and while you're digging through their discography, you might actually surprise yourself with how many good—and dark—tracks they have. Even people who hate everything love Song 2.

Azra! Is there anyone alive who doesn't want to hear Azra?

Magazin. They have stuff that's actually listenable. That one track, "Jer se navikne čovjek...", doesn't even bother me.

Pink Floyd. If they realize it's Pink Floyd, they probably won't complain, mostly just out of fear of looking stupid. For people who don't know anything about music, Pink Floyd is basically sacred ground.

More where that came from. Just keep in mind my experience trying to curate a similar list—I was asked to pick the music for a crowd just like this once. I really put in the effort, and afterward, people were literally asking why the DJ was playing that stuff, like they thought he'd gotten dumped or something.

It's just a dog-eat-dog world out there!

Hmm... pop music? I don't know about that... honestly... maybe try throwing some rock in the mix... Queen, RHCP, or something along those lines.
I’d personally suggest grabbing any compilation by the Swamp... though they usually charge $1.75 at the door, which is a total rip-off🙂... or maybe check out some of Mika Patton’s stuff if you want something a bit more mellow... like FAITH NO MORE, or even the California album by Mr. Bungle.... just see what sticks.
