My hands are constantly red/inflamed—any advice?

It’s actually starting to get on my nerves. It felt like a novelty at first, but now it’s just plain awkward. For some reason, my hands are constantly flushed red. Is it a circulation issue? Who knows...

Still, I feel ridiculous even considering a trip to the doctor over this. But honestly, it’s driving me crazy.

I don't really have an answer for that. But I guess maybe you're using super harsh cleaning supplies without wearing any gloves?

I wouldn't go that far. I don't exactly clean on a regular basis.

It might be nothing—honestly. But red palms can sometimes signal liver issues (or maybe kidneys)—though it’s not always a disaster. Just get some liver panels done and check your urine.

Are you absolutely certain this isn't some underlying dermatological issue?
If we're just talking about increased redness, then honestly, I'm at a loss...
I really hope it isn't one of those physiological paradoxes—you know, the whole "cold hands, warm heart" thing, though in your case, maybe it’s more like warm hands and a cold heart.😉

If there's actually something going on with your skin, it would probably be best to take a quick stroll over to a dermatologist...

I mean, doctors are literally there to answer our questions—you gotta tell them everything, even the stuff you think is totally irrelevant, just to help them nail down a diagnosis.
Plus, they can spot all sorts of things just by looking at your skin, eyes, hair, or nails.

Maybe your hands are just super sensitive to the cold? If you aren't wearing gloves, start doing it—and honestly, grab some protective lotion if your skin is acting up.

They were red in both July and January. And my hands are freezing all the time! (Yes, yes... I know the stereotypes about women having cold hands😁 — though I won't say if there's any truth to them😛 )

I'm heading to the doctor on Monday to pick up a medical note anyway, so I might as well bring it up...😎

I’ve no clue why your palms are turning red, but I definitely know what happens when they go yellow.
It happened to me—palms went bright yellow, though my feet stayed fine. It wasn't some mystery disease.
Want to guess why? I basically overdid it on beta-carotene. I was slamming mandarins and oranges like they were candy, then moved on to all those fruit juices.
I mean, sure, you get it from carrots and pumpkin too, but I wasn't eating nearly as much of that stuff.
Once I cut back (losing about 5 or 6 pounds a day worth of that fruit intake), everything leveled out. After that, I just kept an eye on it.
Still, go see a doctor.

It’s actually happening to my sister, too... her hands are constantly red and she gets this stinging sensation every now and then. 😲 I heard from someone that you can actually clear it up just by switching to Dove soap—it’s totally been tested and it really helps!!! You should give it a shot, because if that doesn't work, then it probably isn't the same thing my sister and this one stylist I know dealt with. 🙂 😉

This happens to me every single winter.🙄

Here's the deal: if I don't moisturize my hands during the winter, they crack everywhere—sometimes even bleeding, which is pretty much expected given the weather.

But then, if I stick to a routine for maybe two weeks or so, my skin gets smooth and feels totally normal—except they stay bright red for absolutely no reason at all!! -.-

In the summer, everything is fine; no dryness, no redness. Does anyone have any actual advice? I'm honestly getting sick of looking at them, and it’s becoming pretty embarrassing to show my hands.
