I find myself wondering about the genuine motivations behind launching this forum and others like it. Is it fueled by the supposed revenue from web traffic, perhaps a desire to decompress, or maybe an intense craving for absolute control over a specific domain 😉? Could it be a form of digital masochism 😁, a simple lack of quality time spent at the computer, or just a way to foster a sense of brotherhood and unity... something like that?

I am truly curious what drives gentlemen like Anderson, Matthew, and the rest of the crew to dedicate so much effort to this endeavor. It isn’t that I’m opposed to it, but I would love to hear their perspective..

It’s pretty obvious that the sense of brotherhood and unity is spreading across this forum and beyond, isn't it?

I’m getting absolutely zero bread from this forum, man. Honestly, I’m not even seeing anything from web traffic. Mudrick wouldn't give a damn if you didn't even blink at him about it.🙂

By the time AT&T or Disney finally decides to hand over a single cent of the profits generated by surfers to some end destination—whether that's a portal or whatever—another 790 members of the FCC will have retired and the network impulses in our beautiful country will have changed ten times over. If it ever happens. And forget about banner ads too, because the total revenue from ad sales consolidated here in the States barely hits a few hundred thousand dollars.

It’s textbook stuff, really. You could talk about the side effects of driving traffic directly within a portal's main page, which eventually bumps up hit counts, click-through rates, repeat visits, and all that jazz. But honestly? It’s all for nothing when our market just sucks.

One reason why all the ISPs (which isn't a monitor, obviously) have their own portals and content is likely to squeeze out a tiny bit more margin per user. Since they're surfing within their own ecosystem, we can talk about potential bandwidth savings and avoiding those external links.

But let me be real with you, heart to heart, without all the bullshit: Anderson is gifting this forum to us, and none of us are actually getting any real benefit from it. That’s the hard truth. So, let's just say it: thanks.

Anderson, if I've got this wrong, please enlighten this fool. You're probably the only American who actually turns a profit from this content 😁😉🙂

Oh, sure. And I’m the Queen of England. Or maybe Britney is still a virgin. 😁 And let’s not forget how Osama bin Laden took down those towers because he had a secret handshake deal with Chacich regarding the latest government contract. 😁

.. thanks, goldentinker79 .. they’re keeping quiet, as usual, clinging to that old habit of staying out of reach from the rest of us 😁

.. there has to be some kind of motive behind all this, much like how a corporation always has an underlying agenda 😁 , because I just can't fathom anyone doing this purely out of passion .. perhaps the benefit isn't immediate or obvious, but it surely exists somewhere

.. you should either speak up clearly .. or simply remain silent forever 😉

There’s a way to make some indirect cash out of this... or at least there's a shot...
"In theory," the forum is just an extra perk... but if you actually pull in enough traffic, you could technically pay for yourself with one or two Banner ads (stressing—technically)...

As long as it isn't just a money pit, it isn't a loss either...
And yeah, you still got enthusiasts running things just because they feel like it...

Is it about having total control over a niche community 😉 , or maybe just a bit of digital masochism 😁? Or is it because people aren't spending enough time at their desks, or they're just trying to build some sense of brotherhood and unity? What's the deal?

I really want to know—what drives guys like Anderson, Matthew, and the rest of the crew to put so much effort into this? It’s not that I’m hating on it, I just want to hear the truth...

Hey man, where have you been hiding? Haven't seen you in forever!

Yeah, I used to think the same way, especially living abroad where this whole forum is basically kept afloat by just two main sponsors.
It’s nothing like how things work back in the States. 😢

Back in the day, it would have been just like what Sandra said: we'd just say thanks to Anderlon. 😁

Hey everyone, let's not forget moderator Lebowskog—he's doing all this work for free, which is no small feat... go ahead and show him some love

How on earth can you be so sure that LeBron is moderating for free? Honestly, who really knows what they’re paying him... He might even be pulling in a monthly salary while I’m out here struggling just to get by... 😢😁

So, so... he's actually making bank then...........
Man, copperdriver15, I was gonna say something much ruder—but wait, you'd probably just get another monthly check... fine, consider me virtually annoyed.

There’s been some chatter going around lately suggesting that the moderators might actually be on the payroll. 😁

Yeah, it seems like there’s someone out there working overtime just to keep Serena Williams on her pedestal. You know, the type who goes straight for the moderator just because they want to defend her... if you catch my drift. Serena, please, stay Serena so I can keep supporting you...

Why would you revive a thread from seven years ago just to post a picture of your nails?
