Give me a break.
You're forgetting that back then, we all—and I mean everyone, including you, I bet—thought the guy from Indy had done a flawless job and that the track was just getting faster and faster because the pole belonged to him. It was pure luck, honestly.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a track that dries fast; everyone knows that.☕
As soon as the rain stops, boom, you've got a dry track in a lap or two. If Marussia and Caterham could figure that out in Q1, then god willing, even Ferrari can handle it.☕

Do some homework☕

Does Fernando Alonso actually have an F1 win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway? 😵
Be a pal and tell me what year you were dreaming about. 🍿
Not only does he lack a win, he doesn't even have a pole or a fastest lap... plus, it's the track where his average points per race are at their lowest (aside from Austria, where he scored zero). ☕

By the way, he's basically your favorite F1 champion on the grid who hasn't won a single race at this track...
Even Felipe Massa has a win on this legendary driver's circuit, yet "Mr. 150%" and the "Maestro" himself can't claim one. 🤣

If we are to accept that squeezing 150% out of a Ferrari this underwhelming constitutes a triumph, then claiming a ninth-place qualifying result makes me nothing more than Santa Claus.

When the maestro spins out and flips on the track, it’s just magnificent. That was a magnificent turn. 🙏

Is this even allowed?

I realize Romain Grosjean doesn't carry nearly the same weight as Lewis Hamilton, but how much longer must we tolerate this circus just to ensure Lewis Hamilton in that Mercedes can actually contend with Sebastian Vettel for the title?

And why am I even nitpicking this small detail when they’ve gone and tested thousands of miles illegally and gotten away with it completely unpunished... reminds me of how things work back home in the States.

No big deal, Lotus is back at it again. Got slapped with a penalty for Grosjean. 🤣🤣🤣

Funny enough, that didn't even trigger a penalty. 🍿

Hitting the track after a trip is just nothing short of magnificent. 👍

No, but that's just Mercedes. 😁

A track that dries quickly. 😵

Common knowledge. 😵

You can tell he's a real driver. Honestly, with a maneuver like that, he could be out there filming action movies. 😁
Maybe it’s some kind of good omen, who knows.
Then again, he’s got Romain Grosjean ahead of him, which isn't exactly the most fearless guy to be battling at the start.

At Indianapolis Motor Speedway, even a high starting position doesn't guarantee much. Since qualifying was pretty mediocre and didn't really show how fast these cars actually are, there's still some uncertainty left. We won't know where things truly stand until the race is over. Today, we're seeing the cars as they'll be for the rest of the season.
That's the whole point of the championship—seeing if the power balance between the teams has actually shifted.

No, at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, you'll have puddles everywhere after even a weak drizzle, despite all those climbs and drops—especially with water pooling in Eau Rouge.🤣

Of course it dries fast; once the rain stops, there’s practically nowhere for the water to sit on this track.☕

Just watched the GP3 session—no crashes yet, but the track is tricky. The racing line is dry, but there’s definitely some moisture hanging around the edges. It's completely overcast out there.

Tibi, this whole penalty situation is a complete joke... Honestly, the Race Director should be getting penalized for that call, but I guess it all depends on whose driver you run off the track. If it were any top-tier team, they would've handed out a penalty without a second thought.🙄

By that logic, places like Malaysia or even Australia would just stay soaked forever every time it rained. 😵

When track and air temperatures are low—especially when you throw high humidity into the mix—the surface is going to take its sweet time drying out. Regardless of any hills or inclines.

It’s honestly laughable.🙄
If Romain Grosjean had done that to someone from Ferrari, Mercedes, or Red Bull Racing, he almost certainly would've been slapped with at least a 10-place grid penalty.☕

If Indianapolis Motor Speedway had hit crazy highs like 70 degrees yesterday,😁
then the backmarkers would've been out on slicks in Q2 just minutes after the rain stopped. I mean, ten minutes later, everyone was already out there running on slicks in Q2...

But sure, let's just blame it on those extreme 70-degree track temperatures.😁

But what was the track actually like? Was it dry?

Look, if the water isn't pooling and it stops raining, the track's gonna dry fast once those intermediate or full wets start doing their thing, regardless of the air temp.

Dry enough for slicks, which is all that matters.☕

The track will dry, obviously.
But there are certain conditions where drying happens much faster.

The conditions at Indianapolis Motor Speedway—high humidity and low temps—just aren't those conditions.

Don't you think this would have happened sooner if the track temperature had been about ten degrees higher?

There isn't a cloud in the sky, Sebastian Vettel takes the win, and both Ferrari and Kimi Räikkönen are far enough ahead that they aren't even in the rearview mirror at this point.🙂

The evo race 2 gp2 is getting underway, and here is everyone in the photos.

Not if there's still a massive amount of standing water on the asphalt...
Temperature doesn't mean much then. At Indianapolis Motor Speedway, they usually find a dry line fast enough to run on slicks without any drama.
