That’s basically the point. If your tires are trashed, you’re done defending. You can't hold position. You'd think that was obvious, but apparently, I have to spell it out for you.
And then there's everyone acting like Alonso is some kind of hero just because he passed Vettel on old rubber. Not impressed. Once Alonso actually overtakes Vettel when they're both on equally worn tires, then we can talk about him being a beast.
