On Reddit, there’s always been this loose list of users hovering right on the edge of being banned, so if one finally went down, nobody would have blinked. Some people loved seeing it, others hated it—we actually just had a heated debate about everyone's taste in moderation on the chat recently—but even then, it wouldn't have been a shock. This time, however, we're all genuinely caught off guard, which is exactly why Charles Roberts33 dragged us over here. ☕
This is a solid summary of how everything went down. I wasn’t exactly thrilled when Ster or Silvan got permabanned, but let’s be real—they were warned. They kept pushing the envelope despite the warnings, acting out and getting under everyone's skin; I can see why someone eventually lost their patience. But Cinque? He’s never been a nuisance and has never even seen a warning, yet suddenly he's hit with a permanent ban. Honestly, what the hell? None of us here have ever really commented on the moderation or bothered to write anything on this subreddit, but this whole situation forced our hand. That alone speaks volumes about how bizarre this decision was. To put it in soccer terms: it’s like if Iniesta picked up a red card in the 25th minute just for a minor foul in the midfield. It feels like a pure show of force from the mods—punishing people just because they can, acting like they're as untouchable as NATO.

When we're deciding whether to lift or reduce a penalty, the most important thing is understanding the individual's perspective and their reasoning.
Thanks for the links, but going forward, it would be helpful if you included at least one direct link to the subject of the complaint—like a profile or a specific post from the user in question. You spelled their handle several different ways here, so I had to play detective just to figure out who I was actually looking for. 🙂
Cinque didn't even bother complaining. He’s such a stickler for the rules that he clearly just swallowed the decision whole, even if it was wrong. If he were actually the moron people claim—the kind of guy who would let a single bad incident drive him to go on a bender—he’d be here right now causing a scene, acting like an idiot, or trying to start some cult.
Whether someone is actually guilty or innocent, or if their punishment was justified or not—it honestly doesn't matter much. Their personal feelings about it don't change the reality of the situation. If a penalty is too harsh, then the permanent ban should be lifted, and at that point, the choice to post or stay silent belongs entirely to them.
The moderators over at the soccer subreddits are nowhere near being active or actually engaged with the community, let alone running a flawless operation.

Look, since TJ (who, in my opinion, is easily the most active moderator we have) hasn't logged on in over a month, it was honestly a bit tough just sitting around waiting for him to remember to do this so the question could finally be brought up.
We actually went to ask informally on a local Reddit thread first, just so it wouldn't look like we were attacking you guys or calling people out—we figured maybe you had info that we were missing. But apparently, the guy just got a permanent ban because he felt like handing it out to TJ; he was just having one of those days.
