CPU sensor issues

Hey... I’ve got a bizarre issue on my hands—when I boot up my PC, all ten of my cooling fans (three of which are part of the liquid cooling loop) just scream at maximum speed right out of the gate. To make matters worse, the CPU temperature spikes to a ridiculous 92 degrees Celsius, and it stays pinned there for about two to five minutes before finally settling down to a reasonable 24 degrees. The weird thing is—I’ve checked, and the processor itself feels completely cold during that initial heat spike! Sometimes I fire it up and everything behaves perfectly fine, but lately, this madness happens every single time I hit the power button. My setup uses an ASUS ROG Z490 gaming motherboard paired with an i7-10700K. Is there any way to verify if this is just a faulty sensor on the CPU or if something else is actually going haywire?

Check how it sits against the liquid cooling CPU block, then swap out the paste—just make sure you don't go overboard with a thick layer.

Thanks for the reply, but honestly, everything seems fine there—the processor was stone cold when I went to check it, yet the readout was screaming at 92 degrees... absolutely ridiculous...

Turns out the sensor on the CPU is just completely haywire—how do I even tackle this? It's a mess... especially since the motherboard is still under warranty....

You've got sensors tucked inside the CPU and right underneath it, but on top of the CPU, it’s just a thin layer of thermal paste and the cooler (the water block).
