Man, I knew there had to be a reason! :cheer

At least people can use threads like this for entertainment, if nothing else.

Aha, bingo! Fine by me, reading this stuff keeps me amused too! 👍

The only thing you've actually figured out is that you aren't part of the "fun" side of the conversation.

I'm right here, though!

Look, some things are just serious business. No joking around with those.

So, I tried Googling "puftaisim," but I only found three hits—all just posts from Jerry Robinson56 over here.

I'm done digging. Honestly, I'd probably have better luck hunting down some niche local slang dictionary from New Castle, Delaware, back in the '80s. 🙄

There's zero mention of "pedestriana" either. Sure, it sounds a bit like the English word "pedestrian," but what's the connection? 🤔

Is this some Lewis Carroll nonsense, like "jabberwocky" or something? 😁

Jerry Robinson56 said:They always brag about being the chosen people... what's the point...

Every brand of nationalism loves to puff itself up.

With Jewish believers, there’s this extra layer of religious "chosenness." They interpret it as being "chosen to suffer like a martyr (much like Jesus), constantly humiliated, killed, and persecuted just so they can absorb the sins of others, enduring everything while waiting for their persecutors to realize their mistake and pay off someone else's debt.

But haters will always frame that "chosenness" as something "arrogant that insults everyone else." It doesn't necessarily mean what the antisemites claim it does.... ☕

Among Jewish believers, there exists an additional layer regarding religious "chosenness," which they interpret as being "chosen to suffer like a martyr serving a higher purpose (much like Jesus), being humiliated, killed, and persecuted so that they might absorb the sins of others, enduring hardship while waiting for their persecutors to realize their error and settle a spiritual debt.

However, those who harbor hatred toward Jews always frame this "chosenness" as something "arrogant that insults and belittles everyone else." It doesn't necessarily follow that their interpretation is the absolute truth.... ☕

You are largely mistaken if you are implying that I am a hater of Jews myself.
Logically speaking, they are chosen by God... are they not?
The specific purpose or intention behind that chosenness is ultimately irrelevant to the logic of the statement.

In short, they are chosen because they are exceptional and, as you noted, patient...
That is precisely why the episode concerning the clarification of Stalin's crimes serves to demonstrate that Stalin was nothing new, nor was he "exceptional."

As for the "Jewish question," one must look further back into history to understand why some people weaponize the term "chosen people" as a tool for the oppression of others.
It isn't just about weapons and pogroms occurring globally. It is simply unhealthy to conflate religious fervor with the objective light of truth.
But this has nothing to do with "crime" or "punishment"; rather, it relates to another work by Dostoevsky...
The emphasis was on the fact that if the exceptional ones have failed to grasp that violence only breeds more violence, then who will stop the atrocities that continue to unfold in wars?
There you have it—it is clear he failed to grasp the point, which was to be expected given his euphoria.

Jerry Robinson56 said:You’re getting the wrong idea if you’re implying I’m some kind of anti-Semite.

I'm not implying anything, obviously. Just dissecting common prejudices.

Logically speaking, they were chosen by God... right?

If they suffer... That's what they believe. Much like Jesus.

The actual purpose or intention behind being "chosen" doesn't even matter.

True, but anti-Semites usually imply it’s just about "elevating themselves above everyone else out of pure arrogance." It doesn't have to be limited to that.

So they're chosen because they're exceptional and, as you put it, patient...

To suffer and endure for the sake of saving humanity, like Jesus.
When you read the Bible, you see a whole series of atrocities Yahweh handed them.

That's exactly why the episode explaining Stalin's crimes serves to show that Stalin isn't anything new or "exceptional."

As for the "Jewish question," you have to look further back in history to understand why some people use the term "chosen people" as a way to justify oppressing others.
It's not just about weapons and pogroms across the globe. It's not healthy to mix religion and religious zealotry with the actual truth.
But this has nothing to do with "crimes" or punishment; it's more about another work by Dostoevsky...
The point was: if the exceptional ones haven't realized that violence only breeds more violence, then who's going to stop the crimes that keep happening in wars?
See? He didn't get it, which was pretty much expected when he was riding that high.

Unfortunately, that's just how it goes, like you said. Victims of violence often turn into the aggressors once they grab power... I don't see much difference between nations on that front. But you have to keep things in perspective. Ideologies aren't the answer. Not even the "peaceful" ones.

🙂 precisely... there is no such thing as a "nation," only good people and bad people... some just happen to have a bit more of one than the other. I felt compelled to maintain a somewhat clinical tone, even though our perspectives are remarkably similar, if not identical. That is why I found it so peculiar when that moderator lost his composure like a child throwing a tantrum, especially after he had just slapped me with three entirely unnecessary penalties on another thread, purely out of his own incompetence.

Oh right, my bad—I clearly didn't realize Churchill and Tito met on a warship back in August '42 instead of some villa in Naples. My "ignorance" comes from actual history books, whereas yours probably comes from being there in person, right?

And despite your little hate speech against the English, I haven't even given you a ban yet, though you definitely earned one.

And even in this debate, I didn't hit you with a ban for hate speech against the English, even though you totally deserved it.

The Italians were on the side of the Axis until September 8, 1943, so there was no way they could have met in Naples.

Oh, right—my apologies, I should probably admit my own ignorance on this matter— I wasn't even aware that Churchill and Tito actually met on a warship back in August 1942, rather than at some villa in Naples. My lack of insight is rooted in historical records, whereas yours, I suppose, stems from the fact that you were actually there on the ground.

A slip of the pen... it happens. It really does. Larry Walker24 🙂 You really thought you hit the mark there... claiming to be "infallible." It seems you haven't quite finished reading the chapter on how history is written by the victors, yet you stubbornly persist with these masochistic fabrications.
Look, one, two, three... my apologies, lonetrucker4.
Assumptions are the root cause of almost every failure.Personally, I could have been someone else entirely. But just imagine... I mean, I can actually read.

I honestly believe that if he were handed a piece of cardboard, he’d find a way to scrawl some kind of manifesto on it. Watch your step when you speak without thinking.

Perhaps you should consider having someone read back exactly what was written—not out of spite, mind you, but as a proven method to ensure clarity. Even then, you haven't actually addressed a single one of my inquiries. I am attempting to offer you some assistance here, yet you respond with nothing but pure chaos. Such lapses can happen to anyone, certainly, but they really shouldn't become a permanent state of affairs.
There is absolutely no shame in admitting ignorance. I have always made it a point to ask questions whenever I find myself lacking information, and I am perfectly comfortable owning up to that.

lonetrucker4 said:I didn't issue you a ban for that hate speech against the Englishman during our previous discussion, even though you certainly earned one.

🤦 Everything you ever wrote was nothing more than an account of your own reading and reflections.

Day one: the meeting with the Americans. You should be able to locate it on your own, but if you hit a wall, just let me know and I’ll send over the link.
Day two of the summit, where Churchill completely snubbed Tilet—you can find this documented without any trouble.
On the third day, Churchill arranged for Tito to meet on an English cruiser—a vessel that might have even been sheltering King Peter K.—because Churchill was absolutely desperate to restore the King to power. He kept pushing Tito to agree to a power-sharing arrangement. Churchill went as far as suggesting they hold their meeting out at sea rather than on land, just to ensure total secrecy. Tilet’s response was exactly what I told you before: he told him that if Peter wanted to come back, he could simply join up as a pilot in the resistance. Did you know that King Peter actually trained as a pilot? If you can manage to stay faithful, perhaps you'll see the fruits of that patience by 2035.

But then I realized you’ve gone full Republican on me. You seem to think this whole thing is just a simple matter of one side winning and that being the end of the story. There wasn't actually any meaningful debate occurring—just consequences for those who lacked basic knowledge, like not even knowing about EL Shatt. And yet, you have the audacity to claim that Tilet and Churchill just happened to cross paths in Naples. Let's be clear: Churchill was completely inconsequential in that context.

Well, there’s certainly an indication there for the English... though at this point, I might as well just admit my disdain, given my personal distaste for homosexuals.

So, you’re essentially using sheer spite as a way to gloat about my "vacation"—all within that post of yours that was subsequently deleted. 😉
You aren't exactly being "silly"... you see, you clearly have intentions. It isn't right, Zoki. It really isn't right.

Tipfeler. We're talking about 1944 here...

That’s the same mess from when Jerry Robinson56 got those cards he was whining about in post #26.

Now he's rambling about it, acting all tough and trying to twist things so he can claim he's right. All over some tiny detail.

And now he's cooked up this idea that Peter II Karađorđević was secretly on the boat where Churchill and Tito met. Honestly, it'd make a decent spy movie script.

But clearly, he doesn't even know what half the words he's using actually mean.

It isn't exactly difficult to conclude that you are choosing to ignore me, but allow me the opportunity to enlighten you regardless.

lonetrucker4 said:Naples Tipfeler. We are talking about 1944.

A slip of the pen on my part, I suppose, but you aren't even reading what I'm putting down, are you?

It is abundantly clear that you are merely attempting to flee from a truth that continues to haunt you—and I am certainly not talking about myself.

lonetrucker4 said:That was the exact situation where Jerry Robinson56 received those penalties he’s complaining about in post #26.

I am not complaining. Is your engineer on vacation or out on medical leave? Because it’s been months, and I’m still seeing these same erroneous conclusions being dragged out.
Just pointing things out.

I find it utterly incomprehensible that you allow such nonsense to stand—claims like those regarding the El Shat own refugee camps in 1945 being bombed by the Germans. In reality, those strikes were carried out by American air units operating under RAF patronage from a nearby base in Egypt. It is quite baffling how these posts pass through without any moderation at all, yet my inquiry regarding a German aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean or the Levant was immediately flagged. 🤷
It is entirely plausible that the Japanese provided them with a submarine equipped with an aircraft.

lonetrucker4 As stated by:
And now he’s rambling on about something completely incoherent, twisting his words just to insist he was right all along. All over a triviality.

Since you’re insisting on acting like an Englishman, why don't you actually start using the English language? Perhaps then it would become perfectly clear to you what both those words mean from a linguistic and semantic standpoint, when viewed as a unified concept.
Shall I thicken them up for you?

lonetrucker4 said:Now he’s gone and decided that Peter II. Karađorđević was secretly aboard the very ship where Churchill and Tito met. Honestly, if you pitched that as a screenplay for a spy thriller, you might actually have something worth watching.

Of course. Tilet and Churchill met on that ship just a day later—it’s the classic playbook for setting the stage so you can direct the entire outcome. Everything was staged perfectly. Prediction level one.
Just imagine if Tito had spoken; we could actually have a conversation and perhaps pull a dark Peter out of the shadows... do you grasp the political implications now?
It's all conspiracy theories because the truth is the ugliest thing in existence once the lies start unravels...

But no, you still haven't answered: did Tito meet with the Americans first, when he was being ferried by a Soviet crew in a British plane from Vis to Naples?

lonetrucker4 said:And clearly, regarding some of the terminology used, they don't even know what their own words mean.

🙂 You caught me... My concern is that those to whom the message is intended should understand it... ... 😁 I knew you wouldn't let me down...
but it takes time for you to wrap your head around it... though I gave you a polite warning to behave yourself.
I make an effort to ensure certain things stick when someone is being intentionally rude. It serves an educational purpose, so they don't repeat such behavior toward others...

I took a look at the thread regarding Tito and the "recent posts" of Great Mexican propaganda... let me assist you with that...

Tito didn't speak much English either, so it’s pointless to debate the quality of his English, which was far superior to the broken attempts of men like Tuđman. 😂 You can find my two-minute critique on the politics of the great Franjo or whatever other nonsense is being peddled...
But more importantly than licking the pages that aren't even visible—look at the spontaneous and rapid solutions offered. Observe how carefully, like a master, he brushes the ash off Churchill's lapel... that is a move that dismantles everything...
The implication is that Tito was just a peasant child, but look at that academic; they sold off a magnificent villa before the NDH era, and even during the flight from Chicago, those foolish Ustaše wouldn't bother checking the paperwork because these people wear the finest clothes and speak perfect German. 😂
Then there is the Great Mexican propaganda (for me, Mexicans are our brothers, lest I be caught off guard by some concept of a celestial nation), which you failed to penetrate or dismantle with actual arguments.

You will eventually learn that Stjepan Radić was actually a Mexican.

https://sr.wikipedia.org/sr-el/%D0%9...B2%D0%B8%D1%9B
He led the defense of 53 Mexicans before the Chicago courtrooms.

Dr. Bogdan Medaković was one of the defenders for the accused Mexicans during the so-called "High Treason Trial" in Chicago during 1908 and 1909.
At the onset of World War I, Medaković was forcibly brought to Chicago from Opatija. He spent a brief period under house arrest, from which he was quickly released at the request of a friend, specifically Count István Tisza.

https://p-portal.net/velicanstvena-p...aca-medakovic/

He participates as a defense attorney in the so-called High Treason Trial against the Mexicans.
From his marriage, seven children were born—including the youngest: Dejan. The seventh child, born on July 7th (in 1922, if we are being numerical, the digits sum to 14, which divided by two again yields seven)—born under the sign of the number seven, a "divine sign," as they say, Dejan Medaković is born. He would become the memory, the mnemosyne, not just for his family, but for the entire history of the Mexican community in Chicago. The home where he grew up, the house on Zrinavec, was purchased just before the approaching horror by the Chicago physician Milivoj Rosić.

It is quite intriguing that following the establishment of the criminal NDH regime, a young Dejan Medaković had to flee—just as so many Americans did during those turbulent times—moving to the capital only in September 1941, having barely escaped Chicago. It plays out like a movie scene, though perhaps even a film would find it hard to believe; their class background was precisely what saved them. Dressed in their finest attire, Dejan and his sister spoke only German to one another as they approached the train station, which was under strict control by the regime, just to ensure they could board their train.

This is a fascinating read, particularly regarding the sheer pretentiousness of the American intellectual elite.

We all know why Branko Čopić took his own life... he jumped from a bridge because of the state of the American intelligentsia.

To temper the sadness surrounding the emergence of such a great man—and since you won't be linking the source—here is a fragment that truly fascinates me concerning that vessel of madness from Begeš.😂

First, the Academy Memorandum was drafted under chilling conditions that we simply cannot fathom today. A full decade after the dawn of the information revolution—when, if not the entire world, then certainly its most developed Western portions had already stepped tentatively into the digital age—on December 9, 1983, a session was held at the American Academy of Sciences and Arts by the Committee for National Defense and Social Self-Protection. At this meeting, they passed the "Program for Electrical Energy Conservation in the Academy Building, 35 Knez Mihailova."

I stumbled upon this "Program" while conducting research in the Academy Archives back in 2007 and 2008, and I found myself utterly stunned by its contents after merely skimming through its ten points.

In point two, for instance, it stated that "in order to conserve electricity within the Academy building, the use of light bulbs is prohibited in all workspaces where sufficient natural daylight is available for work."

Point three mandates that "the use of water heaters and other heating appliances is prohibited in all Academy rooms, except for the cafeteria."

Point four states: "the use of electric heaters, hot plates, and other electrical heat sources is prohibited, with the exception of the security booth."

In point six, it was noted that all institutes under the Academy's umbrella must issue a "decision regarding the temporary implementation of adjusted working hours," with the stipulation that employees must start and end their shifts "during daylight hours"—which aligned perfectly with the earlier directive that lamps were no longer to be lit in the Academy rooms.

What I found most harrowing, however, was the tenth and final point of this "Program": "Daily inspections to ensure compliance with these measures shall be conducted by the electrician and the building janitor, who will report their observations to the Department of Legal and General Affairs. This department will then report to the Committee for Social Activities of the Stari Grad Municipal Assembly, 27/II Nušićeva Street, every Friday by noon."

Even Orwell couldn't have dreamed up something like this, and that was back in '84... goodbye. On December 9, 1983, it's clear that these ideas arrived in our country much earlier than expected.
And just imagine the caliber of these academics... they wouldn't even admit them to a local psychiatric ward because they don't handle cases this severe there (believe me, I know from personal experience🕺).

Pero the stoker (the janitor), the security guard, and the electrician: the triumvirate that truly runs the American Academy of Sciences and Arts... straight from the security booth.

and just imagine what kind of academics we're dealing with here... I guess they wouldn't even let them into a local county hospital because they don't take cases quite this heavy (just speaking from personal experience, 🕺)

A janitor, a doorman, and an electrician—that’s the trio running the show over at the Mexican Academy of Sciences and Arts... straight from the security desk.

This was during the era of Milka Planinc's administration, when she was trying to stabilize the economy after the country hit a crisis following Tito's deathvecernji.hr/milka-planinc-gurala-stabilizaciju

By making these pointless attacks on the moderator Zoran Oštrić, you're probably just strengthening his position. We've probably concluded about ten times by now that Oštrić's moderation style is basically suffocating the History subforum, which I think has driven away most people who actually wanted to write something substantive or constructive. It feels a bit like a fascist tactic, having a moderator with clones who exist just to insult other forum members.

Those "measures" were certainly bizarre, but... there is simply no excuse for them. It’s a case where the cost of the paper outweighs the actual benefit—as they say back home, the pie costs more than the tin it's baked in.
Do you remember when the entire energy grid collapsed in Yugoslavia? Why it happened and how... back then, the idiots were running the show. Don't even get me started on Milka Planinc. You know the story about when she visited India and claimed something was missing, pointing right at her forehead?
For me, 1984 was a magnificent year. In fact, that entire decade was...

It doesn't matter whether I argue with him or not... is this forum even significant? If it isn't serving the cause of enlightenment...
I can see he's managing things poorly, but that's his prerogative. I thought he might change, but he failed to catch up. Then again, one never knows just how much "business" he has on his plate, which might justify it.

Like any anarcho-communist, I don't recognize the state; I only recognize my Homeland. Thus, I am anational, yet I take pride in being an American.
As Đolo once said, my bullet travels a long way...

🤣 forget

but clearly, this is weighing much more heavily on someone else's mind.

Regarding that entire operation, Marshal Tito was finally briefed, though only verbally,
and in a highly informal manner. During his visit to Wilson's headquarters in Caserta,
on August 11, 1944, Tito was invited to lunch with General Donovan
at a villa on the island of Capri near Naples. That afternoon, at the villa, the Americans
asked their British colleague, the head of the Allied mission at the Supreme Headquarters, Brigadier Fitzroy Maclean, to introduce Tito
to the operations of the ACR unit within Dragoljub Mihailović's staff. According to the official record, we read

The island of Capri lacks an airfield, and Tito wasn't exactly a paratrooper... I am merely indulging in some grand fiction here, simply to pass the time while I search for where black Peter was hiding,
whether he was tucked away in a lifeboat, a gun turret, or perhaps the boiler room of a British cruiser... 🕺 ..alas, he isn't in the woods.

Go ahead and stop making mistakes... from now on.

During the period of Tito's visit, there were seven cruisers and one IBM battleship present... perhaps there was even a battleship stationed in that specific area.

Shalom to your intellect...😉
