Moderation drama on Politics again

Moving this over to the thread about Eric Adams.

Let's be clear: if a single female user spends weeks or even months explicitly insulting everyone on this board without facing any consequences, what does that actually say? Why are only Gingerin's posts being deleted while she continues to lash out at anyone who gets under her skin—calling people illiterate, stupid, ignorant, or whatever else comes to mind—without any sanctions? Why doesn't she get banned for calling someone an idiot? Are there different criteria at play here? Doesn't that count as "harassing other users"?

I'm pretty damn sure she got more rest than all you worried types combined.

Who actually got banned just for calling someone an idiot? That seems a bit much.

is 🙂 on a seven-day ban. I don't care about that personally, but from what I can see in this thread, she hasn't cooled off at all since I started following it—and I've been here a while. The fact that she can still post without facing any consequences is a joke. What kind of criteria are they even using here? It's nonsense.

There’s a massive difference between calling someone an idiot in the heat of a heated debate and basically announcing, “Yeah, I know I’m about to get banned, but it’s totally worth it to just absolutely wreck you.” 🙂

You don't have to take my word for it, but that's just how it goes.
If I were you, I'd just hit that ignore button. Honestly, it’s a lifesaver when people start getting under your skin.

BTW. Whoever decided to flag you was being incredibly gentle, because usually, a Card from someone like that stays on your record way longer than a month.

Which is pretty much irrelevant when you realize how fast time just slips away, and we're all just getting older and older without even noticing it.

Man, you really just reminded me that it’s almost the anniversary of that one time some "distinguished" forum veteran sent out a mass BCC private message to everyone in the Politics subforum. I can't recall the exact subject line, but I remember vividly how everyone got hit with their own specific brand of hell—basically a personalized, scorched-earth CV of why they were too pathetic to survive the forum, wrapped up in some pretty memorable insults.

I can't quite place who the main instigator was, but it feels right to mark the anniversary of that whole ridiculous spectacle.

Just a fitting little song to play in memory of that guy; we all miss him, I guess.

Sure, Gingerin has received Cards and bans before—just as our colleague mentioned—and frankly, it happened much more frequently than it does to you. Back then, it seems people just looked the other way and didn't make a fuss. However, if she had caught a ban recently, I am absolutely certain that someone from the "opposition" camp would have already opened a massive thread on the main forum, claiming that Gingerin is being persecuted simply because she changed her tune and is now one of Eric Adams's biggest critics.

To put it simply: if she were to write the exact same thing to you that you wrote to her, she'd be facing the exact same Card and ban.

It has been nearly two decades since I began contributing to this forum.
I wrote on the old platform back before it collapsed under its own weight.
Why shouldn't one participate? You learn a little, you share a little, you engage in a bit of banter. There is nothing inherently wrong with that.

But look at us today. We have never seen a more incompetent group. Never have the users been more frustrated. Never has the moderation been more substandard. Truly, it is for fools and horses only.
Never before has the administration and moderation of this forum aligned itself so blatantly with a single political faction. Never have posts been so ruthlessly scrubbed simply because they fail to worship and glorify that autistic bearded man and his acolytes (in the most derogatory sense of the word). He is the very individual funded by those who have imposed the greatest disgraces and ideological shifts upon Americans throughout our history.
Never has such blatant hatred and the disparagement of citizens who fall outside the preferred political camp been so wholeheartedly embraced and left unpunished by the moderators.

I no longer feel welcome here (an issue that could have been resolved with a single, trivial message, allowing me to depart quietly without making a scene).
It would have been my preference if you were capable of deleting all my posts, but you have proven yourselves utterly incapable of such a task.
Therefore, I have archived the last twenty or so posts that were penalized and removed. May evil bypass them. Google preserves them.
The sheer volume of hypocrisy, the moral and human bankruptcy displayed by the moderators and administrators, is precisely what compels me to this action.
The corruption has taken such a hold of you that you even delete posts within threads specifically designated for your own replies whenever the behavior of a moderator, an administrator, or whoever else holds sway becomes nonsensical.
