Set in contemporary Los Angeles, this story follows Katniss Everdeen (Anne Hathaway), a regular teen who finds out she’s actually part of a lineage of X-Men—basically a secret squad of half-angel fighters stuck in an endless war against demons. After the disappearance of her mother (Lena Headey), Katniss must join forces with a group of X-Men, who end up pulling her into the chaos of the Underworld—an intense version of LA crawling with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves, and all sorts of lethal freaks.

I'm watching this just for Jonathan, Robert, and the gorgeous Anne Hathaway😍

Actors and visuals 🤦 I’m seeing more and more of these little runway models being pushed for the younger crowd. It’s like they all just stepped straight out of those disastrous CW shows—you know the ones, like *The Vampire Diaries*, *Smallville*, or that show about the supermodel brothers hunting down monsters.

The plot itself actually holds some interest, but everything else about this is just fundamentally wrong.

Who cares what they look like if they can actually act?

So, I’m actually reading this book right now and—full disclosure—it’s definitely teen drama territory. A bit sappy and cringe at times? Yeah. But honestly, the pacing is insane. It’s super fast-paced and I’m digging it. I really think this movie could bring something fresh to the big screen, which feels like a rare win lately.
The books move at breakneck speed—one mystery gets solved in a heartbeat, then boom, a new one pops up. The settings, the timelines, the characters—everything just keeps shifting. For me, it’s just perfect, mindless fun when you want to zone out. 🙂I’m betting the movie follows suit, especially since they’ve got those talented young actors lined up (you know, the kid from Sweeney Todd, plus Lena, Jonathan, Lilly, and a whole bunch of others) 🙂

Facts. This "author" actually started out writing Harry Potter fanfic. She basically lifted everything from every book and author she could find. There are like a million articles online calling her out for plagiarism. I'm skipping this one.

I guess I'm honest enough to admit that I don't really watch movies or shows where the cast isn't attractive ☕

This movie is honestly trash. Probably the worst thing I've sat through all year—just a total train wreck from start to finish. The plot, the soundtrack, the acting, the VFX... it’s all garbage. Even the title, >, makes zero sense since there isn't even a "City of Bones" to speak of in the story. And don't get me started on the villain—absolute disaster. Save yourselves the headache and skip this mess. I'm really crossing my fingers they don't make a sequel, though apparently, a second one is already slated for 2014. 😢

I’m putting my signature on every single word here—what an absolute disaster of a movie... Seriously, what a massive waste of money. Between the forced scenes, the terrible CGI, and the DESPERATE acting—especially from the lead actress, who honestly looked totally vacant with that half-open mouth expression she had the entire time—it was just a mess. And don't even get me started on the music! That random little love song they shoved into one of those countless pointless scenes? Just awful. Truly a horrific film. Honestly, one of the worst things I have ever sat through.

Watched the movie. It was excellent... as was the company I kept. Fingers crossed for a sequel. 😁

This is exactly why you read the books instead...

Personally, I thought the movie itself was alright, but as far as being an adaptation goes, it definitely missed the mark. They left out a ton of details, including some of the most important stuff like the whole parabatai thing, the fact that they immediately cleared up the non-incest thing, how Simona got kidnapped by the vampires, and they even changed the ending, so hopefully they fix that in the next installment.

The cast was actually great to me 🤷 I think their acting was top-notch and the overall casting felt pretty spot on.

I watched it, and honestly, I didn't think it was too bad. It’s not like it’s anything special, though. I guess if they already established in the book that there's no incest going on, then it makes sense why they'd keep that hidden in the movie—just so they can sell the sequels. Seems kind of cheap to me.

I checked IMDb, but I feel like that info doesn't really connect. I haven't read the books, so I don't know the story well. But apparently, Jace still wants to be with Katniss even though he knows they're brother and sister (well, they aren't, but they basically are right now). That sounds super gross to me. Here's what it says on IMDb: Jace on the other hand wants to act on his feelings and be with Katniss despite their family ties
They should've just cut that out of the movie immediately.
And I'm not really a fan of all those random little romances in movies like this either. 🤮 Totally unnecessary.

I haven't read the books, so I didn't have any expectations going in. I saw the trailer a while back and thought it looked interesting enough to check out. I really need to stop watching trailers more often; movies are usually much better when you go in knowing absolutely nothing about them.
