HDMI port issues on my GPU.

I’m running into an issue with my graphics card's HDMI port—the signal keeps cutting in and out, just a constant loop of nothingness. I’ve already tested it across several different monitors, and the result is always the same. The card itself is an RTX 3060 ROG Strix. Does anyone have any advice or insight on this?

Are you talking about using the HDMI port on the graphics card? I mean, have you tried swapping in a different HDMI cable yet...

That’s weird. I mean, unless you actually forced it, I guess it's unlikely you physically trashed both ports at once.

Is this happening all the time, or just when you're running macOS? Maybe try checking it in the BIOS to see if it's still acting up. It could also be that the resolution or refresh rate is just too much for that HDMI cable to handle...

It’s a bit of a headache—for instance, when I perform a clean driver uninstallation by wiping everything out completely, the display remains perfectly stable. However, the moment the drivers are actually installed, the signal just drops. It’s like the system loses the image entirely. The ports aren't a physical issue here, and the card itself is barely six months old—so, practically brand new.

I’ve been scouring the web—and believe me, I’ve looked—and apparently, you don't touch the BIOS on this particular card.

I used "HDMI input" in the title—that doesn't necessarily mean that's where the actual issue lies.

Did you make sure to plug in the extra power connector for the GPU?

The card is dead. End of story. It's either e-waste now or you toss it in a kitchen oven at 400°F for about 11 minutes—then maybe take it down to a local pawn shop with a note saying "never used"...

The card works fine without drivers, yet you’re ready to bury it and cook it immediately.

Even if the HDMI ports are dead, there are still two DisplayPorts left which, if they work, would be pretty great.

I have already connected the auxiliary power supply.

Don't be like that. Personally, I love stuff like this. Instead of throwing it in an oven, he could just give it to me. It would work perfectly fine on my end.

Exactly. Though, I suspect he might have just installed the wrong drivers. I could be wrong, though.

It isn't a driver issue—I’ve already exhausted every troubleshooting step in the book. I’m questioning if there’s even any point in trying a DP-to-HDMI adapter, but my logic is tripping me up: if the HDMI port itself had actually fried, why would the signal disappear entirely just because the drivers aren't loaded?

I picked up that cable today and gave it a shot—but honestly, it’s the same old story. Everything runs perfectly fine until I install the drivers; then, the screen just starts flickering out on me intermittently. Does anyone have any other suggestions on what else might be worth troubleshooting?

If it works fine without drivers but dies once you install them, your GPU is toast. There's no way bad drivers could cause that, especially if Windows just pulls them automatically.
