Look, if you're planning on dropping a link in your post—you know, like when you want to cite a source for whatever you're arguing about—there’s actually a way better way to do it than just copy-pasting some massive, ugly URL that takes up half the screen and looks totally ridiculous.
If you're sitting there wondering how to actually pull this off, I guess I can give you a quick little walkthrough on how to turn a giant link sausage into actual, readable text that people can click on to see the site hiding underneath.
Just a heads-up though:
Before you go ahead and slap a link into a thread, you should probably make sure you're linking to an actual source that backs up the stuff you're talking about in your post, especially if everyone is already fighting over it.
And seriously, don't just dump a random link into a post without adding any text or explaining what the hell is even behind it.
So, how do you actually embed a link?
1. Just highlight the whole URL you want to use, right-click, and hit Copy.

2. Then, find the icon right above the text box—it's the one that looks like --
Once you click that, a little window pops up, and that's where you paste that URL you just copied.

After that, take the part I highlighted in the image and swap it out with the title of the page you linked, or just some other text that you think actually describes what the link is about.
