PC build & monitor recommendations (under $1,100)

I'm looking for a reliable setup with a budget of about $2500. I just need it for basic office work, browsing, and streaming movies. I also need a 25'' monitor—something easy on the eyes for daily use. If I need to bump up the budget a bit to get a truly high-quality screen, I'm willing to do it...

A curved screen at 27" with only 1080p resolution? That's a terrible combo. Honestly, just stick to a 24" flat screen at 1080p, or if you want bigger, go 27" to 32" at 1440p. And keep it flat, don't curve it.

A 27" display is way too small for a curved setup, let alone gaming. For work? It’s basically useless, especially if you're handling presentations or any kind of graphic design. I'm running a 32" flat monitor and Microsoft Excel looks perfect on it.

The monitor is strictly for daily office work. I don't watch movies on it; I just cast everything to the TV. Right now I'm using a 24'' setup and I just want something slightly larger.

If you're looking at a 27", just go with an IPS 1440p. A 25" screen is pretty much a unicorn in the US market.

If $500 is too steep for 1440p, you need to decide if you want a 27" or a 24" 1080p setup instead. Personally, I think 1080p looks terrible on a 27" panel. You could always just grab two 24" monitors if that works better for your workflow.

Whatever you do, don't buy a curved monitor for office work.

For $0.50, this 32" IPS 1440p FreeSync 75Hz monitor... is definitely worth it....picked one up for my wife's home office last week and she’s loving it. 👍

It’s certainly a solid choice; I ended up getting the D32-q20, which is supposedly identical, though I did pay a bit extra since this cheaper version popped up shortly after my purchase. For an IPS panel, the contrast levels are actually quite impressive compared to the usual standard.
