lonetrucker4 said:Not quite... It’s actually a bit off, because the forces the Labor Party was formed to fight against—which essentially defined the struggle for the country back then—were fourfold: the Germans, the Italians, the Nazis, and the Chetniks.

See, the Labor Party is only as legitimate as any other wartime regime... they weren't elected by the people, really—they were more like an extension of the Communist Party's authority. But, you have to look at it this way—the Labor Party served as the foundational framework for what eventually became the sovereign state we recognized after those first multi-party elections in 1990.

So, I guess that point made by Jelčić holds some weight—that the country was basically caught in a vice between the Communists, the Chetniks, and the Nazis... quite a mess to be in...

lonetrucker4 said:Well, I suppose one could certainly debate the topic itself, but I really don't think anyone can argue against a thesis that seems to be a flat-out falsification of historical facts.

But I have to wonder, who exactly are you to be making those kinds of calls? Other people might carry some weight here, or maybe they don't, but as far as I can tell, you were a failed history major, so your opinion doesn't really hold much authority. It’s a bit like a medical school dropout trying to perform surgery on someone, don't you think? 😁

No, actually. It’s just fundamentally wrong, because there were four main sides fighting against the Labor Party—and by extension, America—which were the Germans, the Italians, the Nazis, and the Chetniks.

The Labor Party was essentially just a fifth faction sitting right alongside the Germans, the Italians, the Nazis, and the Chetniks.

I mean, honestly, who actually chose the representatives for the Labor Party? On what basis, with what kind of authority, or through what kind of election was this even done? Not a single thing, man. It looks more like a group of forest bandits and highway thugs just formed a body and grabbed power for themselves.

I highly doubt the Labor Party was ever some sort of democratic or civilized institution; it seems more likely they were just an extension of the resistance, Tito, and the Communist Party.

Kenneth Cruz67 said:And who are you to decide that? Other people might be relevant, maybe they aren't—but we all know you're just a failed history student, so you're definitely not an authority here. It’s like a med student who failed out trying to perform surgery 😁

The Labor Party was just another fifth column working alongside the Germans, Italians, Nazis, and Chetniks.

Who actually picked the representatives for the Labor Party? Based on what? With what kind of authority or elections? Nothing, man. Just a bunch of forest bandits and highway thugs forming a group and seizing power.

I'm sure the Labor Party wasn't some democratic, civilized body either. They were just an extension of the resistance, Tito, and the Communist Party.

I don't even get why a moderator should be deciding this stuff. In my book, the moderator for the History sub-forum should mainly focus on banning people for insulting users—including calling others fascists, Nazis, communists, and so on—and making sure everyone stays on topic. They shouldn't be policing what people think (or how they should think) or which sources they use. If someone posts a wrong source, the other users are right there to correct them or point it out. So, the kind of thing I wouldn't ban—even for the reasons you mentioned—the moderator (regardless of whether it's Oštrić, and I won't go there regarding his education) isn't really the judge of, and can easily be subjective.

So, lonetrucker4, you actually went ahead and nuked my post where I was quoting academic John Doe—you know, the guy who laid out his actual stance, which you're now twisting with this total pseudo-fascist revisionism?!
Are you seriously deciding that the late academic was some kind of Nazi?

I distinctly remember you scrubbing the Vladimir Velebit quote too...
What’s his deal in your book, other than the fact that he dared to criticize the Yugoslavia system and the Communist Party?
Is he also forbidden from being mentioned on this forum unless he's framed as a traitor, just like the Communist Party used to spin him?

I honestly don't get these "purges" of yours... What exactly do you think you'll achieve when everyone is forced to interpret history exactly how you think it should be?
Why don't you just start a blog instead?
Let the forum live—let it be a place for meeting up, exchanging ideas, debating, and actually hanging out.

You're stubbornly trying to force everyone into these rigid little boxes and you're killing the whole point of this place.
Instead of an actual discussion, all we've got is your personal censorship.

Seriously, with all the knowledge you claim to have, what are you so afraid of? Why all this heavy-handed oversight and constant sanctions?!
Try letting people actually voice their opinions; if you let the debate happen, the truth will come out naturally, like it's supposed to.
Cut loose those reins... Just allow for a different perspective.

Jonathan Wright2 said:So, lonetrucker4, you wiped my post where I was quoting that academic, John Doe.

That wasn't a quote. Period.

—all based on some fake news and pro-Nazi revisionism?!

Yeah.

So you just decided the late academic was a Nazi?

Nope.

I remember you deleted the Vladimir Velebit quote too...

It wasn't even a quote. I nuked the whole post because your "creative retelling" turned everything into a mess, totally twisting what Velebit actually said.

And he's not allowed on this forum either unless he's framed as a traitor, according to how the Communist Party saw him..?

I'd love to see a single source claiming the Communist Party labeled Vladimir Velebit a traitor. Never heard of it.

Morgan Rodriguez57 said:The Labor Party is about as legitimate as the Nazi regime. They weren't elected; they were just hand-picked puppets used by the Communist Party to hold onto power. Sure, you could argue the Labor Party laid the groundwork for the future state, which didn't actually get its democratic legitimacy until those first multi-party elections in 1990.

So, basically, John Doe's point stands: America was caught between a rock and a hard place, squeezed by Communists, nationalists, and Nazis.

Most of us probably know this already, but at its very first meeting, the Labor Party passed two major documents. The first one was the Yosemite resolution, which correctly called out every single enemy facing the American people:

-anyone working for foreign interests against American interests
-Mexican politicians
-Canadian fascists
-Italian fascists
-Nazis
-fascists in general
-the leadership of the Agrarian Party

The second document was a call to arms, urging the people to fight these enemies and reclaim every inch of stolen land under American sovereignty.

That was mid-1943. By then, it was crystal clear who everyone was and what this whole war was really about.

The only people who would even try to deny the Labor Party's legitimacy are:
-the uninformed
-people with an ideological leaning toward fascism

The first group usually wanders into the History subforum thinking they're going to learn something. The second group? They're the forum admins' problem—it's their job to keep people like that from poisoning any serious discussion.

Jacob Alvarez said:So, as most of us probably already know—and I mean, it’s pretty much common knowledge at this point—the Labor Party brought two specific documents to their very first meeting. The first one is the Yosemite resolution, which does a pretty solid job of calling out all the enemies of the American people...

Anyone working for foreign interests who goes against what’s best for America... they just don't get it...
Those big-time expansionist politicians... they just never seem to quit, do they? It’s like they're always chasing some grand, sweeping vision that ignores everyone else—just constant maneuvering and power plays... honestly, it's exhausting to watch sometimes.
Canadian fascists...
Italian fascists...
Nazis...
You know, when you start looking at fascists in general—just the whole concept of it—it’s a pretty heavy topic to dive into... but there's something about how that mindset works that always catches my attention. It’s such a complex, messy thing to wrap your head around... anyway, just food for thought...
The leadership over at the Agrarian Party...

Well, you've got the Communists in there—though, honestly, they kind of fall right into that first category anyway... Besides that, they’re still just this self-proclaimed, totally unauthorized group operating outside the law...

lonetrucker4 said:Yeah.

No.

Look, just make up your mind... Was the academic John Doe a Nazi or not?
I’m just trying to figure out how to act here since I never know what’s allowed to be posted anymore—basically, what you're gonna go ahead and delete next..
You see, people actually put effort into their posts, and then you just come in and nukes everything because you've decided you're the sole arbiter of what's "allowed."
And when it comes to making those calls, it's just you.. Which is pretty wild, considering you're clearly the only moderator around here.
If there were more of you, maybe this whole "my way or the highway" attitude wouldn't feel so incredibly arrogant.
lonetrucker4 said:It wasn't even a quote. I wiped the whole post because you turned things into a total mess with your "creative retelling," basically twisting whatever Velebit actually wrote.

I’m not saying you’re lying, lonetrucker4, but you aren't telling the truth either..
You just cherry-pick whatever bits and pieces fit your specific narrative. You can't stand any perspective that differs from yours, probably because you can't stomach anyone questioning the ideology you've got baked into your soul..
Let me ask you: if you're such an expert on history, why are you so afraid of it? Do you honestly think you can just stop the clock?
Yugoslavia had its pros and its cons. It's gone now. Move on.
Just let people write freely. Let people be creative. Don't kill an idea just because you haven't read about it, heard about it, or given it enough thought.
Let this forum actually be a forum.
We aren't some stuffy academic circle. This isn't a PhD program; it's a place for discussion.. Everyone has the right to interpret history however they want, which is exactly why debates exist—to challenge theories and tear down fabrications.
Instead, you just delete everything, gripping the reins of every single word and refusing to back down from your own exaggerations.
lonetrucker4 said:I'd love to see a source for this claim that the Communist Party "interpreted" Vladimir Velebit as a traitor. I've never heard that before.

Now, that's a damn good question..
Please, answer me this: once you've actually read a book or studied the material—once you've connected the dots, compared facts, and really chewed on what you've learned—don't you think it's logical to form your own opinion?
History itself is often judged by authors with ideological biases, so we have to hunt for the truth like we're looking for a needle in a haystack..

At the end of the day, just imagine..
Your philosophy is that nobody is ever allowed to write anything unless they have a direct source for it.. Just imagine living like that.
You're essentially banning thought.

You've gone way too far, lonetrucker4.
Please, man, try to find some balance.

If someone writes something that doesn't align with the standard historical record or the official literature from Yugoslavia and the censorship of the Communist Party, don't just hit delete.
Let this thread breathe. Let the community have a real public debate where ideas actually clash and arguments get torn apart.
It’ll be a hell of a welcome for the new folks coming in—they'll see some genuine, official, and alternative perspectives all in one place.

Go after the trolls and the people being outright disrespectful.
But everything else? Just let it ride, lonetrucker4... just let it live.

lonetrucker4 said:If you're looking to share your creations, just look for the threads tagged with the NBA acronym.

Look, you can spin whatever theories you want, you can cook up all the little arguments and talking points to suit your narrative—but you can't just manufacture facts out of thin air. Facts are what they are. You can try to dance around them all you want, but at the end of the day, reality doesn't care about your little thesis.

Look, I’m not exactly a huge fan of how people categorize the NBA—honestly, I think it can be a bit reductive—but I get it. I really do. If you look at it from a certain angle, those kinds of classifications and projections could actually be a decent way to help mainstream audiences get more into the history of the game. It's a way to make the past feel a little more accessible, even if it bugs me sometimes.
So, I guess that's all there is to it—I’m sending my best to the rest of you.

When I’m talking about being creative with how we label things—I mean really getting technical—you could just as easily call him Mr. Josip Broz Tito.
Look, the reason this bothers you is pretty simple—you’ve been fed a specific version of history since 1945, and that's exactly how the literature was built to work. It’s all baked into the textbooks.
Look, if it doesn't have the official name attached to it, then it's a total fake in my book—so yeah, for you, it’s a counterfeit.
The same thing could be said about the Nazis that some people try to rebrand as the US Army or those paramilitary groups back in '44.
But hey, you can't exactly say that—not if you want to stay on the good side of the official history books they used back in the Yugoslavia days...
So, you’re labeling everyone as Chetniks too? Honestly, that’s such a lazy way to look at things—you’re acting like they were some monolith, when even they were split up into different factions like the JVUO or the JKVO after '43 or '44. It’s not that simple, man. You have to actually look at when the NGNO starts transitioning into the NOVJ... you can't just throw everyone into one bucket and call it a day.

The way you push this narrow-minded version of history basically shuts down anyone else trying to dig up a different perspective on what actually went down between '41 and '45. You’re essentially making it impossible for anyone to even comment without getting shut down—it's like you're trying to police how people view the war.
Man, you really think you've gone and privatized this whole damn forum, don't you?
Even if everyone else stays stuck on his side, you and Mr. Al Dente aren't going to change the way this place is moderated.

Look, I get it—you went way too far with those restrictions you put on yourself, and now you're just standing there completely lost, having no clue how to actually fix the mess you've made.
Look, I’m throwing a different kind of partnership out there because—even though you’re incredibly gatekeepy with how you handle moderation—you’re honestly an absolute beast when it comes to historical deep dives.

Look, let's talk about these damn restrictions... honestly, it’s getting ridiculous at this point.
Seriously, just stop deleting stuff already.
Just drop the sanctions already. Seriously.
Look, just open things up already. Seriously. Stop gatekeeping and let people actually get access to what they need—liberalize the whole damn thing.

On behalf of the forum.

It would actually make sense if people from the 1941-1945 era were the ones commenting on these events. History is already set in stone, and trying to deny everything fought during the struggle against fascism is basically just picking a side with the Nazis.

Christian Myers As I was saying:
Where exactly did Jelčić claim he was a fascist? And more importantly, what was the context behind that remark?

Christian Myers, you’re a textbook example of those small-town types who love nothing more than complaining about lonetrucker4. If you ask me, his biggest flaw is simply that he refuses to let people twist the truth.
The reality of the situation remains unchanged: Jelčić never actually claimed to be a Nazi.
The fact remains that lonetrucker4 never actually claimed that in the first place.
It is genuinely difficult to wrap my head around how someone born in 1972 could possibly fail to grasp the distinction between a true fascist and someone who is merely playing at being one. Because of that, I am almost certain you are intentionally distorting the facts.

John Doe essentially declared himself a pro-Nazi through his own statements. It’s quite similar to how you present yourself and your political convictions in your posts—which, if I'm being honest, almost always mirror the exact style of what he said.

Jonathan Wright2 said:I’ve never been much of a fan of categorizing the NBA, but I can see the logic behind it. There are certain advantages to that kind of structure, and frankly, using those types of projections could be a decent way to help popularize basketball history.
And so, I find myself in agreement. My greetings to them.

When I discuss matters of creativity and nuance, I find myself returning to the idea that one can rightfully address Josip Broz Tito with the title of Mr. Tito. It is about the precision of respect.
But then again, that wouldn't bother you, would it? You've been shaped by the way our entire literary canon has been curated since the end of the war in 1945.
Since it isn't officially registered under that name, I suppose you’ll have to write it off as a forgery.

Let’s cut out the nonsense. No one is stopping you from calling it that, and nobody has officially labeled it a forgery either.

The same could be said for the Nazis, whom certain people insist on labeling as the US Army or various paramilitary groups starting back in 1944.
But then again, one isn't allowed to say that, is one? Not if we are strictly adhering to the official history books written during the Yugoslavia era.
It seems you’ve lumped everyone into the "Chetnik" category, which is a bit of a sweeping generalization. Even within those ranks, there were significant internal divisions—you had the various factions like the JVUO or the JKVO, and then things shifted again around '43 and '44. It’s also worth noting the specific timeline regarding when certain groups transitioned from being part of the National Guard into the regular partisan forces. History is rarely as monolithic as people like to make it out to be.

Honestly, who on earth is calling the US Army Nazis? I mean, give me a break. Does anyone actually lack the basic intelligence to distinguish between Nazis and a local paramilitary group? It’s common sense, really.
All those other absurdities were settled a long time ago. They are perfectly clear to everyone else; it seems you're the only one still struggling to grasp them.
True terror is when you realize you aren't even allowed to call the US Army by its actual name without being accused of treason. It’s that suffocating feeling when the language itself is policed.🤦

The narrow, suffocating version of history you insist on peddling essentially functions as a gag order. It’s designed to silence anyone else who dares to attempt a different perspective on the events of the war from 1941 to 1945. Any attempt at nuanced commentary is immediately shut down.
It feels as though you’ve gone and privatized this entire forum yourself.
Even if everyone else chooses to stay on his side, you and Mr. Al Dente aren't going to change the way this place is moderated.

There are plenty of us over on the Alternative subforum, so feel free to let loose there. You can spin whatever fairy tales you like all you want without anyone bothering you.

I see you've pushed your restrictions a bit too far this time, and now you're standing there wondering how on earth to fix the mess you've made.
I am offering you this potential partnership because, despite the exclusionary way you handle moderation, you possess an exceptional grasp of historical chronicles.

The discounts are finally being implemented...
Stop deleting everything.
Lift the sanctions.
It’s high time we consider liberalizing access. We need to open things up.

On behalf of the forum.

So, there you go. You’re actually sitting there offering him some kind of cooperation model...🤣

And on behalf of this entire forum, for crying out loud...🤣

And just who exactly gave you the authority to speak on behalf of this entire forum, you megalomaniac?

Sam Alvarez4 As I was reading through the recent discussions, one particular sentiment stood out to me. It’s a perspective that, quite frankly, feels increasingly common in our current climate, yet remains deeply unsettling when you actually sit with it. There is a certain weight to these observations that demands a more measured response than the usual reactionary outbursts we see online. When someone makes a claim like this, it isn't just about the surface-level argument; it touches upon much deeper shifts in how we perceive our own history and social fabric. It reminds me of a conversation I had years ago while sitting in a quiet corner of a library in Chicago—one where the gravity of the situation only became clear once the noise of the crowd died down. We have to look past the immediate provocation and consider what this says about the underlying tensions currently pulling at the seams of our society.
@I have to take my hat off to lonetrucker4 for his sheer patience. It truly takes a special kind of endurance to sit through these creative reinterpretations and those so-called "quotes" that certain people try to pass off as credible sources.

That’s exactly why the attacks always target the Alternative crowd and those far-right extremists. It's a predictable cycle. Then, inevitably, those same people start whining that they aren't allowed to discuss the genocide against Americans in '45, or how the site that served as a luxury hotel until 1945 turned into a place where the Resistance carried out killings until '53. They want to talk about the 700,000 Mexicans who were murdered in that same Spa Center, yet they act like they're being silenced when the conversation doesn't go their way.
Listen, you fascist types can say whatever nonsense you like—but not on this platform. You’re more than welcome to express your views here, provided you actually have the receipts to back them up. Otherwise, it's just noise.
If you’re looking to dive deep into myths and legends, I can personally recommend picking up a PDF of *Alternative* or, if you really want to go down the rabbit hole, *Stormfront*.

I mean, honestly? I can’t even deal with some of the stuff being said lately. It’s like people just lose their minds when they start talking about history—or what they *think* is history. Every time I jump into these threads, I feel like I need a drink just to process the sheer level of nonsense flying around. It's exhausting, really. Just constant, loud-mouthed opinions from people who wouldn't know a real historical fact if it hit them in the face. I’m sitting here trying to make sense of it all, and I just end up feeling like I'm shouting into a void filled with nothing but noise. It’s ridiculous. kaže:
Cut the nonsense. Seriously. It’s not like anyone’s actually stopping you from calling it that—and nobody’s gone out of their way to declare it a fake, either.

Look, someone seriously needs to talk some sense into Oštrić and convince him to dial back the terror—it’s getting out of hand.
I can't even begin to explain how much this whole situation gets under my skin—it’s honestly exhausting just thinking about it. I swear, sometimes I feel like I'm shouting into a void while everyone else just nods along like nothing's wrong. It’s that specific kind of frustration where you know exactly what the problem is, but trying to point it out feels like trying to explain color to someone who refuses to open their eyes. Just... ugh. Anyway, I'm rambling. Let me get back to the actual point before I go off on another one of my tangents. kaže:
Who the hell is calling the US Armed Forces fascists? Are you kidding me right now? Seriously, give me a break. Does anyone actually even know the difference between those old-school extremists and the Paramilitary militia back in the day? Get it together, man.
Look, all those other ridiculous nonsense theories were settled ages ago—everyone else seems to get it perfectly fine, except for you.
I mean, talk about pure terror—it’s when you can't even bring yourself to type out "Yugoslavia" or call it the "US Army" without feeling like you're losing your mind.🤦

You’ve got a way with words, I'll give you that... pretty interesting stuff.
Look, I’m telling you... you don't just go around calling those fascists the US Armed Forces. That’s a huge distinction. You aren't doing that, and honestly, you shouldn't.
Someone’s out there making moves... and honestly? Don't go coming for them. Just let them live their life.
I mean, honestly, what are we even doing here? It’s just one thing after another with this crowd. Every time I think we’ve hit rock bottom with the sheer level of nonsense being peddled, someone finds a way to dig a little deeper. It’s exhausting, really—like trying to explain basic common sense to a brick wall while everyone else is busy cheering for the wall. I’m sitting here, staring at my screen, just shaking my head at the absolute state of things. We’re circling the drain, folks, and half the people on this board seem to be handing out the straws. It’s ridiculous. Just... ridiculous. kaže:
Look, there are plenty of us hanging out over on the Alternative subforum, so don't hold back—feel free to go wild and write whatever fairy tales you want over there.

Thanks for the heads-up...👍
Look, if I walk away now, Oštrić is just going to absolutely wreck that PDF. History is gonna be totally trashed.
I don't even know where to start with this one—it’s just one of those things that gets under my skin every single time it comes up. Honestly, I’m sitting here trying to process how we even got to this point, and it’s just infuriating. It feels like everyone is just circling the drain, ignoring the actual core of the issue because it’s easier to just vent or stay silent. I mean, look at the way things are being handled lately. It's messy, it's disorganized, and frankly, it's insulting to anyone who actually gives a damn about getting things right. You see people acting like everything is fine when the whole foundation is shaking, and you just want to scream, right? It's that classic case of people choosing the path of least resistance instead of actually doing the heavy lifting required to fix the mess. And don't even get me started on the excuses. There’s always some half-baked justification for why things aren't working, as if "we tried" is some kind of valid substitute for actually succeeding. It’s exhausting. I’m over it. I really am. We need more than just empty talk and finger-pointing; we need actual substance, but I guess that's asking too much from most people these days. Just my two cents, though—probably just me being a hothead again. kaže:
So, you’re actually sitting there trying to offer him some kind of partnership model? Seriously? I mean, look, I get it—you’re probably thinking you can play nice and find some middle ground—but honestly, it feels like a total waste of breath at this point. You're basically walking into a lion's den with a handful of treats and expecting it to shake hands. It's just... man, it's frustrating to watch.🤣

And on behalf of the forum, for Christ's sake...🤣

And who exactly gave you the authority to speak for this entire forum, you absolute megalomaniac?

Seriously, who gave Oštrić the authority to turn this entire forum into some kind of private shouting match? And who exactly gave you the right to play his personal defense attorney?
I don't even know where to start with this one—honestly, my head is spinning just thinking about it. It’s like we’re all walking around in this collective fog, pretending everything is fine while the whole foundation is basically crumbling under our feet. You look at the way things are being handled lately, and it’s just... it's exhausting. I'm sitting here trying to make sense of the madness, but it feels like every time I get close to an answer, someone moves the goalposts or changes the rules of the game entirely. It's that classic, frustrating cycle, isn't it? We see the cracks forming, we point them out—sometimes screaming about them until our throats are sore—and what do we get? Silence. Or worse, some condescending lecture from people who clearly haven't spent a single second dealing with the actual fallout on the ground. It’s enough to make you want to just throw your hands up and walk away, but then you realize there’s nowhere else to go. We're stuck in this loop, staring at the wreckage and waiting for a solution that feels more like a myth every passing day. Just a total mess, really. A complete and utter disaster. kaže:
