I don't post in Natural Science very often—maybe five to ten times a year at most—even though science is a massive passion of mine. Back in my college days, I leaned heavily into math and physics, and even now, I spend a good deal of my free time keeping up with popular science literature and checking in on this sub from time to time.

A few days ago, the moderator Frogger handed me a partial penalty. It happened because, during a discussion about some futuristic topic where everyone was playfully speculating about human teleportation, I shared a harmless, well-known anecdote (which I’ll paste below).

Since the anecdote had already been posted elsewhere and I feel the penalty is a bit heavy-handed for such a minor slip-up, I’m reaching out to the higher forum authorities to request that the penalty be overturned.

I would ask the oversight committee to consider that the spirit of the thread was lighthearted and speculative; we weren't deep in the weeds discussing partial differential equations or Laplace transforms.
Singling out my little story for a penalty feels like a bit much, a bit of an overreach 😁

I kindly ask the review board to take into account my twenty years of contributing to this community through countless threads written with genuine care and style.🙂

Respectfully submitted, hiddenpuma75

So, I ended up sharing that famous little anecdote with Vamvo—the one that’s already floating around out there—which is probably why hiddenpuma75 shouldn't be getting any credit for it

Haha, you remind me of Dawkins in that story where he actually goes toe-to-toe with God Himself.

Picture this: it’s somewhere in the tenth millennium of the Vulgar Era, and two leading scientists, Vamvo and dado666, announce to the world that they can craft a human being out of dust—just like God did a long time ago.

Suddenly, *poof*! 🙏 God appears
and asks them:
🤔"Let me see if I've got this right... how exactly do you plan on pulling that off?"

Vamvo and dado666 weren't about to let some superhero show up and ruin their moment, so they jumped straight into demonstrating how to create man from dust:

"Alright, let's take this dust..." Vamvo says, sounding incredibly confident.

But then God cuts them off...

"You've missed the point entirely..."

"This is my dust."

"Go find your own!" 🧐

====

Now, if we apply this joke to the seed copy and Vamvo’s clever claim that he manages to do this every single year, I suppose I could step in as God's self-appointed legal counsel and issue a warning:

"This is a seed created by God TM."
"Use your own teleporter to copy it, and make sure the COPY is what sprouts, not the original TM."

Honestly, Parsifal, getting kicked out of the natural sciences department was probably for the best. You practically earned it. I’m fully backing the moderators on this one, too. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if someone manages to boot you from the philosophy department sometime soon.

Since I actually know Parsifal in real life, I can vouch that he’s an incredibly kind soul and a total genius. Honestly, we just happened to cross paths at the PZK during my rant about some of the sexist nonsense going on around here—that’s how I stumbled onto this thread. I’m not sure if my little testimonial about his stellar character will help move his request along toward a positive outcome, but if it does, it’d be a huge win. Sending love to my good friend and everyone over in Cape Cod from the west side of Washington, D.C. 🙂

When I first started this thread, I had no idea I’d end up gaining an unexpected enemy and an unexpected ally all at once. 😲

So, let me address my former friend first.
Your desire to see me banished from philosophy is totally unfair; honestly, it just sounds like you're being driven by pure emotion rather than logic.

First off, :
No one has ever launched more interesting or highly-trafficked discussions in the philosophy section than hiddenpuma75. 🙂

Secondly, the rest of the community deserves an explanation as to why our colleague Sigmund is so hell-bent on getting me kicked out of the philosophy group.

Essentially, Sigmund is the kind of philosopher who is absolutely head-over-heels in love with the subject.
But then, much to his horror, some amateur named hiddenpuma75 showed up and disrupted his little romance by exposing the many flaws and limitations of "old lady" philosophy—and clearly, Sigmund just can't forgive me for that.😁

To be specific, his ego simply couldn't handle the four curses and warnings leveled against the old guard of philosophy by Buddha, Niels Bohr, Bela Hamvaš, and Osho. Instead of facing them, he decided to attack the messenger—hiddenpuma75—who dared to write it all down and show everyone exactly what Sigmund's beloved philosophy looks like when she's stripped bare.😁

Warm regards to my dear friend and everyone over in Cape Cod from the west side of Washington, D.C. 🙂

My dear, unexpected ally, 🙂

As you know, we haven't actually met—in fact, by some miracle, you seem to know me, yet I don't know a single Blazenka, either here on the forum or in my actual life. 🤔 (Assuming that is your real name, of course!) I hope you might be willing to reveal who you are via private message sometime. 🙂

It is truly lovely to hear such flattering things about my character. 🙂
It’s common knowledge on these boards that even someone as clueless as I am once praised hiddenpuma75, though clearly, nobody took me seriously enough to believe me back then. 😁

Still, I should probably warn those of you who are quick to praise or criticize others with a classic Russian proverb:

To truly know a person and understand their heart, you must eat a pud of salt with them ! 😲

(For those wondering, a "pud" is an old Russian unit of measurement equal to 16 pounds. 😲

Look, we don't actually know each other—for some reason you seem to know me, but I don't even know a single Blanche in this forum or in my actual life. 🤔 (Assuming that's your real name, anyway.) Hopefully, you'll feel like revealing who you really are in my DMs. 🙂

It’s pretty sweet hearing such flattering critiques of my character. 🙂
The rest of the forum knows that even in my ignorance, I used to praise Parsifal, but clearly nobody took me seriously or believed a word I said. 😁

That said, I’d warn anyone out there praising or bashing others by citing an old Russian proverb:

To truly know someone, you have to share a pound of salt with them! 😲

(And just for context, a "pound" here refers to about 35 pounds. 😲

Right, a pound of salt... you're being real modest there. We haven't shared a pound of salt yet, but we have had some sweets and a salty pizza, so I figure that should be enough for now—if you want more, hit me up privately. And honestly, wishing for someone to get booted from Philosophy in a thread about getting kicked out of quantum physics mosquito laser discussions is just pathetic. It’s actually sad. I also wanted to say something about how my thread got locked without any explanation regarding my appeal. If my appeal wasn't even looked at, and they just handed out red cards to me and that paratrooper who was defending Jerry Robinson56 like he was his own mother, then it just means the moderator handling the case thinks her own reputation wouldn't be tarnished if some other troll—or even this same Jerry Robinson56—wrote the exact same thing to her personally. And he did.

A lot of us have been here for years while you're just arriving... which basically means we've dealt with so much stupidity that you aren't even interesting yet. I mean, the brain might not be, but the legs are something else..

So, hypothetically speaking, our moderator's head isn't interesting to this hypothetical Jerry Robinson56, but her legs are.

I mean, what's the big deal if some primitive guy on a forum isn't interested in someone's head (their arguments and logic), but finds their legs interesting instead? Is Jerry Robinson56 going to go do something else with the moderator and her legs outside of this forum instead of dealing with her intellect and points here?

Locking a thread without explaining how my appeal was handled suggests that the moderator wouldn't mind if that hypothetical situation actually happened. Congrats on being immune to sexist savagery, though—even if the mod is immune to sexism, I'm definitely not. Thanks for ignoring the Geneva Convention!

By the way, calling it "sexism" is a bit of a euphemism for Jerry Robinson56's primitive insults toward a female user.

The way Jerry Robinson56 phrased that "heavy insult" can also be read in the plural. Not only is he personally more interested in my legs than my thoughts, but he's suggesting his buddies—who defend him like they love him more than themselves—feel the same way. His posts in that other locked thread prove it. Male solidarity has conspired against female dignity, and the moderator just locks the thread and throws the key into the ocean. Have a nice day, ladies.

It’s actually quite sad. I really wanted to say something here regarding how my thread was locked without even a single explanation as to how my appeal was handled. If my appeal wasn't actually addressed at all, aside from handing out red cards to me and that one guy who started defending Jerry Robinson56 like he was his own mother, then it probably just means the moderator handling the case feels her own reputation wouldn't be compromised if some other Jerry Robinson56—or even this very same one—wrote the exact same things to her that he wrote to me. So, hypothetically speaking, our moderator's brain isn't interesting to a hypothetical Jerry Robinson56, but her legs are.

But really, what is so wrong with a primitive guy on a forum finding someone's legs more interesting than their head (their arguments and debates)? Is Jerry Robinson56 planning to do something else with the moderator and her legs outside of the forum instead of dealing with her intellect and arguments here?

Locking a thread without offering any clarity on the resolution of my appeal suggests that the aforementioned hypothetical situation wouldn't bother the moderator one bit. Kudos to her for being immune to sexist savagery! However, even if she might be immune to sexism, I certainly am not. Thanks for disregarding the Geneva Convention!

By the way, calling it "sexism" is a major understatement for Jerry Robinson56's primitive insults toward a female forum member.

The way Jerry Robinson56 phrased that heavy insult could almost be interpreted in the plural. Not only is he personally interested in my legs while completely ignoring my mind, but he seems to suggest that his buddies—who defend him like they love him more than themselves (or more than he loves himself)—feel the exact same way. His posts in that adjacent, locked thread prove it. It’s like male camaraderie has conspired against female dignity, and the moderator just locks the thread and tosses the key into the ocean. Have a wonderful day, dear ladies.

To be perfectly honest, those people claiming the moon landing was a fake are likely using their brains just for decoration anyway, so asking whether it's a matter of heads or legs is a false dichotomy. In my experience, with those kinds of people, even their legs aren't particularly impressive, no matter how good they might be. Furthermore, since their heads are merely ornamental and their legs are just for walking, expressing interest in a head would actually be considered sexist.

btw Harame, Ernest, Granny, which one of you clones is this?

Kenneth Cruz67 said:Honestly, people claiming the moon landing was staged clearly have nothing going on upstairs—so debating whether it was the head or the legs that were faked is kind of a moot point. With those types, even if their legs were ripped, they wouldn't be doing much with them anyway.

I’m not sure what’s more depressing: the fact that 11% of this forum thinks the Earth is flat, or that 77% actually believes we went to the moon.

I'd say the second one is worse. But hey, why be surprised? We live in a world fueled by Goebbels-style propaganda and the shallow intellect of the masses. It's always been this way. What you just wrote is a massive insult and some straight-up sexist posturing from a total Neanderthal. I fully expect a red flag because I called you out, rather than anyone noticing you were the one being an asshole to me in the first place. So, I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm embarrassed to even call myself part of the human race. That's basically what one of the investigators looking into the Titanic sinking once said.

Another guy—arguably the greatest magician in the scientific community—once remarked: Human stupidity and the universe are both infinite; though, to be fair, we aren't even certain about the universe yet.

Whether people are trash because they're stupid, or stupid because they're trash... well, that's a research project in itself.

I’m none of those people listed above. Honestly, here’s some easy proof you’re just making stuff up. Not a single one of those "clones" you mentioned—assuming they even exist—has ever claimed that heliocentrism isn't how reality actually works. I’m making that claim, and I could prove it just as easily as I could prove that humans never set foot on the moon. But since you guys are clearly more obsessed with my feet than anything else, you’re never going to see that evidence. Actually, the real reason you won't see it isn't because you wouldn't care—it's because I don't throw pearls before swine. It's not about being stingy or hoarding knowledge; it just makes zero sense to explain things to people who aren't even looking for the truth. Swine only care about the mud and trampling over each other.

I suppose I’d have to say the latter is even more heartbreaking. But then again, I guess we shouldn't be surprised, considering we live in a world filled with Goebbels-style misinformation and the short attention spans of the masses. It seems like it's always been this way, hasn't it? What you just wrote, though, feels like a really harsh insult and some rather sexist behavior from someone being quite aggressive. I'm almost expecting to see a red flag because I spoke up, rather than anyone noticing that you were the one being insulting toward me in the first place. So, since I've said it so many times before, I'll just say it again: I feel a bit embarrassed to even call myself part of the human race. That’s a sentiment, I think, that one researcher investigating the sinking of the Titanic once expressed.

Then there was another expert, perhaps the greatest magician among scientists, who famously remarked: Human stupidity and the universe are both infinite—though, to be fair, we aren't entirely certain about the universe yet.

Whether people are foolish because they are trash, or if they are trash because they are foolish, is probably something that still needs a bit of research.

In my view, thinking that those who claim the Moon landing was fake are just ignorant, dim-witted, and uneducated is a stance that has absolutely nothing to do with gender; it applies equally to men and women alike.

It seems you're quite well-acquainted with the entire body of work from these supposed clones, 😬

If I had any doubts at all before, I certainly don't anymore. The whole thing is totally backwards. 😁

Even if the discussion regarding the Moon has shifted, that specific style of subtle undermining wrapped in such pathetic, over-the-top epic prose is incredibly recognizable and truly one-of-a-kind. 🤣

It’s not just that the Moon landing skeptics are incredibly uninformed—it's that their logic is basically identical to other, even more ridiculous conspiracy theories. You know, like believing two planes could somehow take down three skyscrapers, or that one of those supposed hijackers could walk away from that mess practically unscathed. Honestly, Goebbels is rolling in his grave. He’s probably screaming, "Man, I was an amateur compared to these guys! If I knew people were this easy to fool, I wouldn't have bothered repeating the same lie ten times—twice would've done the trick." Give me back the calories I wasted reading this nonsense.

rapidhound2 As stated by:

I have no part in any of the aforementioned nonsense. In fact, allow me to offer you a simple demonstration of your own dishonesty. Not one of those supposed clones of the same individual—assuming that premise holds any water—has ever dared to assert that heliocentrism is an inaccurate description of our reality. I, however, make that claim quite clearly, and I am fully prepared to substantiate it, just as I could prove that humanity never actually set foot on the moon. But since your singular obsession seems to be my feet, you will never lay eyes on such evidence. To be perfectly blunt, the reason you won't see it isn't because the proof lacks merit, but because I refuse to cast pearls before swine. It is not a matter of being miserly or unwilling to share my insights; rather, it is simply a matter of logic. There is zero utility in attempting to explain complex truths to creatures that possess no interest in them. Swine care only for the mud and the opportunity to trample one another.

It appears you possess a rather comprehensive understanding of the body of work produced by the aforementioned clones. 😬

If I was even slightly indecisive before, consider that phase officially over. I am no longer wavering. I have completely reversed my position. 😁

If one is discussing the month of Fact, there is a certain shift in tone that occurs. The underlying style—that particular blend of subtle sabotage wrapped in a pathetic epic—is unmistakable. It is quite unique. 🤣

🙂 Kenneth Cruz67 I tip my hat to you; your perception is truly exceptional.

I maintain that I am entitled to dictate which editorial direction we take, given my position within the secondary lead role.

I am fairly convinced we are dealing with a man here. Women simply lack the capacity to be quite that dim-witted, though I suppose I could be mistaken if there happens to be some particularly thick-headed woman involved in the mix.
My failure to acknowledge character is merely another facet of my explanation regarding my lack of interest—not in any individual sense, but rather in observing how quickly they will flee from the actual subject at hand.
Unless she possesses genuine intellect, I find it impossible to take notice—regardless of any physical attributes or the sheer scale of her proportions. To me, true allure lies in that Renaissance-style zest for life, a quality far more vital than mere aesthetics.

Regarding the whole situation surrounding Temu.
As far as my acquaintance with Parsifal goes, philosophy knows no boundaries, and he stands indisputably among the greatest. That is a cold, hard fact.
Science doesn't exactly roll out the red carpet for those who peddle proven impossibilities as viable solutions—especially when those solutions are rooted in pure nonsense. That said, I maintain my stance that the platform would ultimately lose its integrity if it continued to distance itself from such discourse.
Given that same logic, does the possibility of my return exist? Time has been an impartial judge, and it has proven that a few years ago, I was undeniably correct, hasn't it?

The reason for the penalty was essentially a symbiotic relationship between the moderators and the forum users, regardless of my actual writing style, which remained strictly focused on explaining complex scientific concepts to beginners.
An individual’s level of education says very little about their chosen field of study or their inherent intelligence, and it certainly offers no insight into their moral compass. I speak with conviction on this matter, and I trust you have grasped my point—however unconventional my reasoning may seem.
I am merely posing a question, and I assure you that I am adhering to the rules just as strictly as I have in all my previous dealings.
I am under no obligation to promise changes, nor am I here to make any requests; ultimately, nothing is within my control, and you maintain the absolute right to act according to your own whims.
That said, I do appreciate Vour time together...

It’s honestly hilarious when some legendary Jerry Robinson56 thinks anyone with half a brain actually cares about his rambling nonsense in the philosophy subforum. Stick to your dusty old chauvinist theories about landing on the Moon and stay far away from actual philosophy—because honestly, having guys like you, with your primitive, manic, caveman energy, hanging around the philosophy section is just an insult to the whole concept. Does your mom have zero boundaries? You seem so incredibly sexually repressed that I'm starting to wonder if you view your own mother as some kind of object—or maybe you just refuse to acknowledge she's even a woman. If she’s still around, why don't you go show her this thread and ask for her take, assuming you actually value her opinion. Sound like a plan? You pathetic loser.
