It just serves up whatever hits those subconscious triggers you didn't even know you had. 😛

I turned off my adblocker for a second and was immediately hit with ads for McCormick's classic paprika, guess I should start a garden too.

That’s how these Meta ads work—if you hover over the ad, an "x" and an "i" icon pop up in a little circle. If you click that "i," it actually tells you why they’re targeting you with that specific product. In my case, it says "This ad is based on:

Meta's estimation of your interests
Your age group"

And there's even an option to flag an ad if it's particularly annoying:

Report bad ads. Go to the ad feedback form

My iPhone 12 is basically a tracking device at this point. Between Max and whatever other sites I visit, it follows me everywhere 😁

This one? Please. I've seen better. Someone once asked if there was a program that could just build video games for you—you know, where you tell it what you want and it actually makes it.

Richard Nelson84 said:So, I was just thinking—and maybe this is just me being a total dork—but if you’re looking to find that perfect Muslim wife, it feels like such a mission sometimes, right? Like, where do you even start? It’s not like you can just wander into a Starbucks in downtown Chicago and expect everything to just click into place instantly, though hey, I guess miracles happen! Anyway, I was chatting about this the other day, and honestly, it’s all about finding someone who really gets your vibe—you know, someone who shares those core values but also isn't afraid to be their own unique self. It’s kind of like trying to find that one specific vintage shirt at a thrift store in Austin; you have to look through a lot of noise to find the real gem. I mean, I guess it takes patience, and maybe a little bit of luck too? But seriously, just stay positive and keep your heart open. You gotta believe the right person is out there waiting for you to cross paths!

Alright, thanks! 🤣

Oh man, come on! 🤣

Man, if that's not true, then Meta's estimation of your interests really missed the mark this time—which, honestly, happens more than you'd think, I guess.

Screw this. Your ads are all dark mode. I'm stuck seeing nothing but white. Whoever invented adblockers really did us dirty.🤦

Now that we’ve finally cleared up how those ads pop up—whether they're hitting you randomly or following some weird pattern—we can basically take this whole debate and shove it straight into the trash. Honestly, I'm over it.

Outside of this thread, you guys should just use whatever logic works best for you, as long as everyone involved stays happy and things run smoothly.
