Personally, Van Morrison’s music is my absolute favorite, so this week's topic is spot on. I actually caught one of his live shows back in Seattle about five years ago. ))

I’m not much for guessing games or staring at blank screens waiting for someone to finish their thought. Either say what you mean or move on. I don't know what anyone expects from this team anymore. It’s just more of the same. Honestly, at this point, you have to wonder if they even care about winning or if they're just going through the motions. I remember watching a game back in Chicago years ago where the energy was actually palpable, but this? This feels hollow. Just another disappointing performance that leaves you staring at the screen wondering why you bother wasting your Saturday afternoons on this.ic 😁
I honestly think it’s about time we started getting a little hyped up regarding the Pirates. 😁

Man, they were really leaning into that MGMT sound—it’s almost like they were obsessed with 😁
@ fass: What are your top GBV albums? My husband put on Forever Since Breakfast yesterday and I thought it sounded awesome—so much of that classic college rock vibe 😁 We mostly grew up on 90s stuff, specifically that whole Bee Thousand - alien Lanes - Under The Bushes run.

Alright, look, I know we’ve been going back and forth, but just drop a song title so I don't look like a complete idiot for starting this thread. Fine, Master stopped by, but honestly, he always shows up when we're talking real organic music.

Bee Thousand, hands down, then Alien Lanes. Those are the only two that feel like complete works. You can pick through plenty of great tracks from the rest, but Pollard definitely isn't exactly an unbiased quality control guy. Even those two have some filler, but even the filler feels intentional—kind of like listening to those classic white-label indie rock records.
Edit—just realized this maniac has listed 18 studio albums since the 2012 reunion. Who knows, if I get drunk enough during a blackout night like tonight, I might just order the whole lot on Amazon (I usually hate Amazon when I'm sober) and blow half my paycheck.
Actually, let me correct myself—even if they aren't untouchable classics like those first two, there are still gems worth remembering—like Propeller, Under The Bushes, and Earthquake Glue. Oh, and Half-Smiles is great too; that was actually the first one I ever heard.
And here is one of my top 20 favorite compilations ever—absolute gems all around.
So, let’s revisit one of the most sublime short tracks in human history. Damn, one of the most sublime songs ever made, period.

The reality is this new Stingo album is complete garbage. 😁
The only decent thing on here is that overproduced, radio-friendly Rushing Water track. 🐔

Can I ask one intimate, deeply personal question for us, your audience? 😁
Do you do music professionally?
Do you teach music anywhere?
Or perhaps you study the philosophy of music?? 😁
Do you attend alternative events on the absolute fringe of music and art? For instance, have you ever been to Ars electronic in Linz? (I want to go, but you have to book lodging in Linz a full year in advance 😵 )
Tell us about yourself... 😒😁

Awesome 👍
I'll definitely give that compilation a listen.
I really need to put together my own collection of those short, beautiful tracks too. Just thinking off the top of my head—some of my absolute favorites have to be These hands and Bathroom floor. I just love that vibe where things feel unfinished, yet somehow totally perfect at the same time.

Fine, the Master showed up, but let's be honest, he's always lurking whenever there's actual good organic music being discussed.
And I'd love to, Vanja already reached out, but I really don't have much to say when it comes to music theory; what I can tell you is why 1995 was such a defining year for me.
That was the year my boyfriend from high school gave me a copy of Van Morrison's 'Days Like This' for my birthday—the same year I nearly got expelled because my mother, who thinks she's more important than any authority figure in the country, marched into the principal's office to demand they wouldn't excuse a single one of my absences, even though I'd managed my own life perfectly fine until she decided to interfere, and I suspect even then she was sensing that certain streak of rebellion running through our family line that she felt compelled to try and crush before it could fully take root.😁
etogac. 🙂

Thanks for the find.
I'm from an area similar to where these guys are from, but back home everything is a total fraud—it's just fake mysticism, fake psychedelia, and fake folk. 😁 We have all kinds of bores like Ogenj.
But these guys? They're truly something else.

I happened to stumble upon this...
You should definitely give this first album a spin—it’s just as solid.
Lost Lonely Road 😉
