This takes me back to my early twenties. My youth. That era of "studying"... 😁
Are there any other Björk fanatics in this group? 😁

I’ve been trying for a solid 15 years now and I'm still not feeling it. There’s just something about her that pushes me away—and it isn't even about how she sounds or how things are produced. It’s more like I’ve always felt she’s putting on an act, pretending to be something she isn't. And honestly? Without some insane level of talent—think David Bowie or Bob Dylan—that kind of stuff just feels like a huge turn-off to me. I don't really get the need for all the theatrics; I've never been much for the drama, personally. Just let the poetry flow naturally instead of forcing it.
That said, she can still hit home sometimes—like, Hyperballad is a straight-up masterpiece. And Hunter, Army of Me...

I’ve always had this gut feeling that she’s just playing a character, and honestly—without monstrous talent (think David Bowie or Bob Dylan)—that’s a massive strike against her. I have zero interest in all that theatricality. It’s foreign to me. Let the poetry flow naturally; don't force it through a machine.
Yeah, I get it. Actually, I feel the exact same way about her, which is why I stopped listening.
I used to listen to her here and there back in the 2000s. I was a HUGEly pretentious kid back then. 😁
Even then, the only stuff I actually liked were those 90s hits where she wasn't overacting.
But back then, I convinced myself I understood what the hell Medulla was all about. In reality, it’s all garbage... now I know. 😁
And this new album is trash too.
Still, she can still pull off Oceans and
So whatever... let her exist.

Same here. I've always found her a bit off-putting, and my friends know I'm pretty much bjorkofobican.
That said, I genuinely respect her as an artist—probably more than some musicians I actually play on repeat—so there's still some love there, 😁 even if she isn't my vibe. Plus, she’s got some killer tracks (Army of Me, Hyperballad, Pagan Poetry...).

I just can't get into Björk. It’s not even that I think she’s exhausting or overdoing the whole vibe, she’s just... boring to me. I actually own one of her albums, but honestly, I couldn't tell you which one it is or what it's called if my life depended on it.

Man, there’s just something about this song—I almost started dancing right in the middle of the sidewalk today!

👍 I mean, she was actually a killer tone specialist for Ham.
