Screensaver ideas?

Hi there! I have a question. I own an Apple laptop that I bought brand new four years ago. I'm wondering what actually happens when the screensaver kicks in and the laptop stays like that for a while? For instance, if it runs all night. Does it eventually switch to standby mode, or does the laptop stay fully active the whole time with just the screen turned off?

Just let it run according to whatever you set up in your Control Panel settings.
