By the way, I don't think anyone else has realized that the movie is based on the book of the same name by Barry B. Longyear. That work won the Nebula in 1979, and followed that up with a Hugo in 1980.

A little bit of trivia for anyone scratching their heads over this one...

Author Barry Longyear reported at a convention that the studio insisted on adding a subplot involving a mine, thinking the audience would not realize that the "Mine" in the title was a possessive (as in "My Enemy") rather than an object.

Not at all! Author Barry Longyear was quoted as stating that 20th Century Fox asked him to write in the subplot involving the scavenger mine because the audience would not figure out that the title 'Enemy Mine' was actually a play on the phrase 'My enemy.'

It feels like the only place it really struck a chord was here in the States.
Everywhere else? People just don't seem to care.
Personally, I think the movie is great.
But honestly, I’m almost afraid to watch it again—just in case I end up disappointed by my own nostalgia.

Regardless, it belongs in that special category of unforgettable films—the ones that actually have a heart and soul.

Man, I wish I had known this a day before I headed out to the book fair.

Saw some kind of biography on TV the other day... It really helped refresh my memory on all this stuff.

Yeah, it was called Enemy Mine 🤣

Maybe there was an underlying concept there, and honestly, the title might have been a little too vague, kind of like saying "too much" when you really mean something else entirely
