This script is a total train wreck, basically following that old-school method of "making it up as they go along" by pulling ideas straight out of thin air.
You could call this movie whatever you want, but there is absolutely no way it earns the title Gladiator 2.

Hhahahah.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day. 😁

I have a few more titles that this idiot Scott could probably make use of—

12 Angry Men Returns

2001: A Space Odyssey

In this case, idiot Scott would probably just dive straight into the Engineers—until, of course, he gets so suffocated by his own ideas that he ends up sprinting right back to what he did in Alien: Covenant.

3. Starship Troopers

Saving Private RyanS

5. Alien - Who Engineered the Engineers

6. Skynet VS Matrix A.I.

And then, at the very end, they could just make the ultimate sequel to all the sequels:

Goodfellas — a look at how American society rose.

Some guy decided that since nobody else can seem to film a single coherent historical epic worth watching, he’d just take matters into his own hands and give the industry a much-needed masterclass

Honestly, we should all just be grateful ☕

No way. That idiot Scott is starring—he isn't just going to stop at his own movies; he’s seeing this through to the very end.

Well, thank God we have the solution from Starship Troopers on how to finally stop Scott—if you just cut off the hands of an idiot director, he won't be able to press the button to greenlight a sequel.

Well, that’s just one more flop for the books. 😂

It really would've been better if they didn't totally ruin the legacy of the original by slapping a sequel title on it.

Ridley Scott says
Gladiator 2
is currently being written and should be ready to roll once he wraps up Napoleon.

What about that movie? Is there going to be a sequel for that one too?

I wonder what's next. Saving Private Ryan 2?

🙂 I suppose Ryan was at least saved, though it seems Maximus didn't make it through.

Man, what a joke. What kind of crazy nonsense is this? You think they can just squeeze an Alien out of a dead Gladiator? 😲

Looks like they'll have to save him all over again. Only this time, Ryan will be some veteran diplomat stationed in Washington, D.C., being rescued by a grizzled Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, and the rest of the crew.

Has there actually been a single cult classic left that hasn't been milked for a sequel? 🙂

Well, we certainly have, and we are well aware that Lucius is the central figure, but I suppose without Maximus, the whole thing just feels rather underwhelming. 🙂>

Honestly, pretty awesome! You just can't beat those massive, big-budget Roman epics. It doesn't even matter that Maximus is gone.

I thought the sequel to 300 was alright too—even if Leonidas wasn't in it.
They managed to nail the tone while pivoting the theme in some new directions and introducing fresh characters.
That’s exactly how they should handle Gladiator 2.

Honestly, the fundamental issue with sequels like this is that they tend to trigger this sense of déjà vu, making the whole experience feel recycled rather than fresh. It’s just not the same. We saw this exact pattern play out with the sequel to "300", and I suppose we're likely to see the same thing happen with this one as well.
