Hello, everyone. Please accept my apologies if this topic has already been addressed; I was unable to locate it. My situation is as follows: for about a month now, I have been experiencing redness in my groin area. Suspecting a fungal infection, I applied an antifungal cream, which successfully cleared the redness. However, simultaneously, strange red spots have appeared on both legs near the groin. They resemble large pimples in size, yet they do not itch or burn; they are simply present and persistent. Furthermore, the texture appears somewhat unusual, as if the skin is peeling. Does anyone have any insight into what this might be? If there are any dermatologists here, I am happy to provide a photo.
Thank you very much in advance.

Maybe that wild game meat. All I've got left after paying my taxes is enough to make anyone break out in a red, swollen pimple.

Wild game? A tax hike? I am truly at a loss for words here. o_O

Haha, man, I’ve got some left over from that—go see a dermatologist or something. Could be those new rashes going around. lol
It's probably just an allergy, nothing else.

Does anyone have any insight on this?
Does anyone have any advice? My spots have finally cleared up, yet I am still struggling with intense redness and a burning sensation in my groin area. At the same time, there is itching both in the groin and at the base of the scrotum. Currently, I am applying an over-the-counter antifungal and antibacterial cream. I have also been using bandages and cotton padding to prevent friction, which is the only way I can manage to walk; otherwise, the burning sensation makes movement nearly impossible. Does anyone have any ideas at all?

The swelling has finally gone down, but I’m still dealing with this constant redness and burning sensation in my groin. On top of that, there's itching everywhere—the groin area and the base of the scrotum. Right now, I'm just slathering on some over-the-counter antifungal and antibacterial cream. I've resorted to using gauze and cotton pads just to stop the friction; honestly, it's the only way I can manage to walk without being in agony from the stinging. Does anyone have any actual ideas?

I have one: go see a doctor. They are the ones trained to deal with this kind of thing.

Is that so? I had no idea. You have truly enlightened me with that revelation.👍

Just use some powder and try to keep those areas dry. Sweating only makes everything worse.

By the way, the actual medical term is Tinea cruris, just so you know if you end up seeing a dermatologist.

Thank you so much; I did a quick search online and it looks exactly like that. I am constantly applying creams, using powder, and trying all sorts of things on my groin, but the real issue is my job. My work involves a massive amount of walking, which causes constant friction and really hinders the healing process. No matter what I try to use to protect the skin—whether it's bandages, compression gear, wraps, or even cotton—it just doesn't hold up. After twenty minutes of walking, everything is a mess and completely loses its effectiveness. It is such an incredibly awkward spot to deal with since you can't actually protect it from friction. :/

I work in a commercial kitchen, so I'm dealing with constant humidity and heat—basically a playground for fungus. I went through a rough patch for a few months one year, so I truly empathize with your struggle. For me, the only thing that actually worked was seeing a dermatologist. She put me on antibiotics for a week, then had me rotate between two different creams for two weeks each, and finally, it cleared up...
Now, I always keep an antifungal cream on hand to nip any issues in the bud immediately. Nowadays, you can pick up a whole range of antifungals over the counter without a prescription. Given this heat, if your job keeps you moving, I’d recommend applying some baby cream before your shift starts😉. Use it as a preventative measure while things are clear, rather than waiting until the irritation actually shows up
. But for now, please go see a dermatologist first so they can give you the heavy-duty treatment needed to kill off those fungi once and for all.

Also, given how hot it is lately, if your job keeps you in similar conditions, I'd recommend mazati with some baby cream before you head into work 😉—meaning, use it as a preventative measure when your skin is clear, rather than waiting for the infection to take hold

Thank you, Ivica, for such a detailed response. I'm heading to my primary care physician tomorrow, so I'll see what their advice is first, though I'll likely need to follow up with a dermatologist, as getting an appointment there can be quite a wait ☕
I've been using an expensive antifungal and antibacterial cream for a few days now, but absolutely nothing is working. I've tried using cotton pads and bandages between my thighs to minimize friction, and even applying powder to the area, but it’s been completely futile. If anything, it's just spreading down toward my leg; the itching is driving me insane, yet I can't even scratch because the skin is so irritated it actually stings. Honestly, it's just a total nightmare. I wouldn't wish this on anyone!!! 🙂
