Laptop to monitor setup

Hey everyone! My son is currently lugging around this old laptop equipped with an i3 4005U 1.7 GHz, a GT 840m, and just 4 GB of RAM. The screen resolution is standard HD. If I were to pick up a high-def monitor for him, would he actually be able to run something like CS:GO without everything turning into a slideshow?

Yeah. You can actually bump up the resolution—to 1080p in your case—once you hook up an external monitor.
