The Exorcist (2012)

> is a horror flick directed by Sam Raimi and produced by Sam Raimi himself. It’s set to hit the Sundance Film Festival first.
The setup: A kid picks up this old box at a yard sale—it's got some Jewish inscriptions carved into it—and suddenly EM (Natasha Calis) is totally obsessed with cracking it open. Her dad thinks the thing was built specifically to stay shut, but it doesn't matter. EM starts acting wild and violent. Since her folks just went through a divorce, they don't catch onto the weirdness right away, but things escalate fast. Fearing for their daughter, Clyde (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Kyra Sedgwick) try everything to fix it—from medical brain scans to talking to rabbis—to figure out what kind of supernatural freak show is inside that box and how to stop it from tearing EM apart.

Perhaps this might actually breathe some life back into the horror genre; it certainly looks intriguing enough.

Judging by the trailer and how the story's shaping up, I’d say Sam Raimi definitely had a huge hand in guiding the director here...

If that's actually the case, then we shouldn't have much to worry about...

Because let's be real—Sam Raimi knows his stuff.

I just caught the trailer and I have to say, I am genuinely looking forward to this one. We could all use a little more real horror in our lives lately. 😎

Looks sick. Honestly, knowing Sam Raimi is behind this gives me all the confidence I need because the guy is a total genius at setting the mood in horror.

Honestly, Drag Me to Hell stands out as one of those rare, actually decent horror flicks from the last 🙂

Man, his version of The Gift totally blew me away. And honestly? That movie is where I fell for Cate Blanchett. Best actress ever, period.😍

The trailer looks pretty intriguing. It’s been quite a while since I’ve sat through a decent modern horror flick, so I’m crossing my fingers this one actually lives up to the hype. Can't wait to check it out.😁

Good grief, enough with these possession horror flicks. One is plenty, but seeing ten in a row? Give me a break.
I actually had nightmares just from watching the trailer yesterday, let alone sitting through the full movie. They claim it’s based on "true" events, which we all know means 99.1% of it was cooked up just for the drama. In my opinion, the grossest part of the trailer was that scene where the girl uses a flashlight to look into a mouth, and then two fingers start crawling out of her throat... honestly, that was just revolting. 🤣

I honestly don't get the point of horror movies anymore... it feels like they're just designed to mess with the heads of sensitive viewers. I once knew someone who was literally paralyzed in her seat at a theater after a horror movie and had to be rushed out by paramedics. Where are the good horror movies? You know, the ones with giant desert worms hunting people down... or those fun horror comedies. Those are more my speed.

And don't even get me started on how much they film about zombies these days. 🤮
At least the zombies back in the 80s were slow; these new ones have somehow learned how to sprint. 😂

I can't quite recall the title off the top of my head... but I remember a movie from a few years back where everything was shot through a home security camera. You know, that style where you're just watching the footage from a wall-mounted camera at night, seeing ghosts tossing sheets around and all that creepy stuff?

That's exactly what I was trying to say! 😁If someone has only seen two horror movies in their entire life, this one would probably be way too intense for them.

That movie poster looks killer... I’m really digging it. You can tell right away this isn't some cheesy romantic comedy 🙂

I checked it out, and honestly, it lived up to the hype. Solid acting, a gripping plot, and plenty of steamy scenes—definitely worth your time 👍
