I was helping a buddy set up Zoom on his computer recently, and I went ahead and handled the whole account creation process for him.
Basically, during the setup, I entered his email address along with a password. It also asked for a mobile number to send over a verification Call of Duty, so I just used my own number—the code popped up on my phone immediately, and I was able to wrap up the account creation without any issues.
Now, the problem is that whenever he tries to log in, the system asks him to enter either his email or his phone number.
The strange thing is, when he attempts to use his email, it keeps rejecting it—saying it's a "wrong username"—but for some reason, it accepts the phone number instead.
We were both hoping he could just log in using his actual email address rather than being tied to my phone number, you know, just like how most other Zoom users operate.
Does anyone happen to know how we might be able to fix this?
