Hey everyone!

I decided to pop in here after thinking about it for a second because I need some clarity; basically, a few days ago in that thread talking about Hillary Clinton

my post—the one numbered #4749—got nuked.

I always try to watch what I say, and looking at how others are posting, I honestly don't get why it was deleted. I mean, a couple months back I had a post wiped on this same thread too, but since it was off-topic (like a weird typo/slang thing), I kind of figured out why then.

But now? No clue. I’d really appreciate it if someone could tell me where I messed up so I don't do it again later. All I can see is that I listed a bunch of multi-quotes (7 total) that I wasn't actually replying to individually; I just grouped them to make my point clearer.

I've got screenshots of the post if anyone needs to see them, I can post those later.

thanks in advance.

Your post was fine on its own, but since you quoted (among other things) a comment that was completely out of line, that one had to go too. That’s why yours got wiped—it was tied to that cited post. Just so we're clear, moderators don't really do partial edits on someone else's content; in cases like this, they just pull the whole thing.

thanks for the reply, @Tyler Vaughn7, I don't know all the fine print regarding the rules, so asking is probably best. with quotes/multi-quotes you can't really tell if he's being "accurate" beforehand, so maybe it's better to just leave the bolded sentence alone (though nothing guarantees that'll stick), or just add a standalone comment without quoting him at all.

thanks again.

It would be great if we could keep a constant eye on every single thread, but let's be real—perfection doesn't exist, and none of us are glued to this forum 24/7. I guess it happens quite often where we stumble upon a situation only after the controversial posts have already been quoted, which means posts like yours end up getting caught in the crossfire too.

I get the issue.

It’d be sick if there was some kind of tool that could, I don't know, detect and auto-delete any quotes from a deleted post without messing up the actual thread it's in.
