Why was my post deleted? I was simply stating that technical literature written in Mexican is practically useless here, or at best, barely helpful due to significant language barriers.

It’s unusable unless you translate it, and once you start translating, you aren't dealing with a single language anymore. The issue isn't about whether one can understand the text; the issue is the necessity of translation.
For instance, I can understand Canadian without ever having studied it, and it certainly isn't the same language as English, yet professional literature from Mexico is incredibly difficult—if not impossible—to utilize without a translation.
Even a guy from Russia might call beer "pivo" in a coffee shop; if the only metric for being the same language is basic comprehension, then the logic falls apart...

What exactly was wrong with my reasoning that warranted a deletion?

I wouldn't doubt that for a second, 👍
But honestly, I don't see what the issue is with my post.
If I can't use technical literature in one dialect without needing a translation, then how can we claim it's the same language? Since when does one language require translations within itself?
When it comes to basic communication, if a tourist walks into a bar in Chicago and says "one cold beer, please", did you understand what they wanted even if you've never studied English?

It’s probably for the best that you cleared that up yourself. You didn't get banned, but the mods scrubbed the post because a few people were trying to derail the whole conversation with nonsense like, "Well, if Czechs can understand each other's beer orders, then we should be able to understand Czech too"—which is a pretty ridiculous comparison to how Americans and Mexicans can actually follow one another...

That doesn't mean they're the same language, but anyone trying to deny that mutual understanding exists—or comparing it to Czech—is clearly just trolling.

You didn't get banned, but the post was taken down because a few people acting like parachutists were making it impossible to have a real conversation with idiots claiming, "Well, if Czechs can understand each other, then we should be able to understand Czech just by hearing it"—which is a pretty ridiculous comparison to how Americans and Mexicans can generally understand one another perfectly fine.

That doesn't mean they are actually the same language, but it does mean that anyone trying to deny that mutual understanding (or comparing it to Czech) is just being a straight-up troll.

Are you really going to go out and buy carrot-colored ladders and a bowl for chili and soup?

Just ban yourself for trolling.

For the hundredth time now: deleting posts remains the single most effective and frequently utilized tool in a moderator's arsenal. It serves as the primary defense against trolling, spamming, derailment, and various other disruptions to the conversation.
