JavaScript help, URGENT!

Disclaimer: I’ve posted this thread across a few different subforums hoping to find a volunteer ASAP, so my bad if I’m cluttering up your feeds.

So, a couple of days ago, I got dumped with this massive task: I have to build a "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" style quiz web app by this Friday (Feb 10th). To save us all from a boring lecture on how I ended up in this mess, I'll just cut to the chase. I managed to find some half-finished code online that I’m supposed to polish up and finish. The thing is, the base code works fine, except for one glaring issue: only one of the three lifelines—the 50:50—actually functions. The other two are totally dead, and there isn't even any JavaScript code for them in the .js file. Since I'm basically a total newbie when it comes to JavaScript, there is zero chance I can fix this myself by Friday.

That’s why I’m reaching out to any JavaScript wizards out there who might be willing to step in and help me lift this heavy weight off my shoulders before the deadline hits.

Also, if anyone thinks they can go above and beyond and knock out some extra features by Thursday night at the latest, I am more than happy to pay a decent amount of cash for the help. There’s quite a bit of work left to do, like adding question randomization (right now the questions and answers come up in the exact same order every single time), setting up a login page to track users, and maybe even a leaderboard at the end (though that might be a stretch since, from what I can tell, the site isn't structured for a database yet, but that's my best guess). I also need an option to "walk away" with the money already won and, generally speaking, making the landing page look less like a mess and more like a real game with a proper "start" button.

Actually, I’d love for you to bore me with the details. How is it that someone who clearly has zero clue what they're doing was assigned this in the first place?
Look, whoever gave you this assignment wants to see if you can actually pull it off. But instead of starting the work, hitting a wall, and asking for help—which is what people do—you didn't even try. You went straight to the internet to find someone else's work so you could pass it off as your own.

Why would anyone give you a task like this? It's pretty obvious you don't know JavaScript, let alone how to build anything with it.
And why are you even attempting this in JavaScript when you know you're out of your depth? Who are you trying to prove anything to? What does passing this "test" even accomplish?
If you knew JavaScript? You don't. When an employer hands you a job later on and gives you a real task, are you going to show up on an American forum begging others to do your work for you?
Let's be clear: you haven't even started working. You didn't get stuck and look for guidance; you immediately went looking to scavenge someone else's project online, and now you want a third party to help you commit the theft.
While I'm sitting here typing this out, there's someone else right now actually coding in JavaScript, hoping to pass the very same kind of test you're praying someone will solve for you. They didn't go online, grab a stranger's project, and come to a forum whining for help to fix SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK just to claim it as their own.

Do yourself a favor: go to whoever gave you this JavaScript task on Friday and just tell them the truth: I don't know JavaScript, and I'm not going to learn it.

Honestly, I’d suggest reaching out to the original dev and asking if they’re actually cool with you messing around with their work to polish it up or tweak things... If it isn't under a GPL license, you really don't have any right to touch it—let alone modify it—without getting the green light first.

Otherwise, just bite the bullet and build something from scratch using whatever language you actually know... even if it's just basic HTML, at least it's yours. You could always grab some help to brainstorm the questions, too.
